Has anyone ever, had the opportunity do something they have always wanted to do, like THE uni course they want to do, do well in it, all goes to plan. But at the same time, it feels like there is a whole big chunk of something missing?

Hmm does this mean we can't live a happy life until we have a secial somone to share it with?

sulk frown
or will a few simple hugs remedy this?

hahaha... have read about this recently after feeling similarly, apparently it's part of what's called "quarterlife crisis". Strangely, it made me feel a bit better when I knew it had a name wink
I think it depends on the person... lots of people can be really really happy singles, others can't (at least to some degree). Anyways, in my experience hugs help biggrin

don't worry Gothmuppet!

It's just a description I stumbled across a couple of times now (last time on the cover of the Big Issue!). It's a bit of a "basically all's fine but there's something missing", and it's supposedly got to do with life generally going faster and people in their 20s thinking about typical midlife-crisis stuff like "Am I really happy with where my life is going". Dunno about how real it is or if it's just another made-up syndrome to sell lots of books on, but some of the descriptions I read described my feelings a few months ago pretty well, and since none of my friends could really understand me it made me feel better to realise it was not that uncommon.

Do you have any pets? Pets are great company - ferrets are the best.

Sounds like you’re approaching the end of one phase of your life and are somewhat apprehensive about the beginning of the next and would therefore like someone to support you through the change as well assomeone for you to channel you emotions on - that's where pets are good.

Huge hugs and hope you feel happier soon.

Its a damn shame i'm allergic to fluffy animals frown But it would be loverly to have a leopard gecko again <3

Rats are great - hamsters are evil - yeah it is a shame that you're allergic - well I guess your only option is children then - they are sort of like pets, need to litter train them, feed them, clean up after, build progressively larger hutches for – hey maybe that’s it – maybe your broody at the moment? Problem is children will take time to get hold of and won’t help in the short term – still maybe looking at the long term will be a good thing. There is another solution – build a marine aquarium and have a pet dolphin – again no good for the short term and not too great for the dolphin. You could get a non-mammalian pet but they just never seem to be as affectionate as a mammal – except birds – are you allergic to birds? I have it – how about one of those Egyptian cats with no hair like Dr. Evils cat? That might work.

I'm feeling this way too at the moment. Like there's something I'm missing. It could be because I've come out of a relaitonship recently, though I'm pretty much over that now. I dunno I sometimes feel that life is going too well I guess. I look for disaster and I find it out of sorts when bad things don't happen...maybe that's what it is? Maybe there's so much good that you're kinda wondering where the bad went? kinda like a niggling worry. If that makes ANY sense at all! hug

If you're still doing the student thing and have to move about a bit, I highly recommend Egyptian dwarf geckos... a very teeny terrestrial gecko (about 3-4 inches long including tail when fully grown!) that's easy to keep, hard to kill and easy to move around.

They have so much character too ubblove
