listen to music and try to relax

even the bumpiest of flights just feel like driving on a rough road -try to close your eyes an imagine yourself some where else

personally i love flying tho so im not sure how good this will be but it works for me with other things (like work - i just imagine im not there :P)

Tell the flight attendants that it's your first flight....they look after you well. And admire their regular routines about flight safety... I like watching them

I was really scared on take off but once you're up there it's nice. I was more frightened at the landings but now I've come to love landings more than take offs!

Just take deep breaths, your ears will pop no matter what but don't stress. You'll be fine, aeroplanes are fun machines smile

one thing NOT to do: the ex-boyfriend was scared of flying, so he took some herbal anxiety-relieving medicine his sister got somewhere. In the end he was so relaxed he thought it might be fun to try opening the emergency exits, and had to fight with himself for the rest of the flight to NOT do it wink
Don't worry smile I'd pick you up at the airport if I could, but my parents arrive earlier the same day from Germany and my mum's going to be very scared, too, so I'll have to look after them smile
