*save as please

its almost a year old... but its the most recent poi video I have.
I know most of you probably have never seen me spin, so I figured why not release it so you guys can have at least an idea of where my skills are.

I really like this video still, I hope you guys enjoy it.

Cool! I wasn't really expecting enything other than the more common badly shot incredibly dark nothing but wraps, glo string vid.....but.....wow! Was happily proved wrong! smile One of the few 'stick vids that I really enjoy. And finally, a glo string video shot with a decent amount of natural light in it!! clap You found a really nice balance (dusk not dawn right?) and it looked great crossing the glo sticks across your silouetted body, very nice work.

I like your moves too, a good spread of different moves as apposed to the inevitable repeat syndrome we all seem to suffer from at one time or another.

One thing I would say for positive citisism, (I don't know if it would still apply seeing as it was shot nearly a year ago) a very wise man once told me...."Stop stooping so much when you spin and lift your head up more". Your posture does let down your spinning a bit, straighten your back and your arms for some of the moves too and I'm sure you'd be much happier with the shots afterwards.

Thanks for sharing, I look forward to seeing more! smile hug

Let's relight this forum ubblove

yep, I plan on getting some sock poi and filming again outside. I really like that location.

Kael says sock poi will help my isolations and smooth out my poi.
Plus you'll be able to see it in day better.

Gotta agree with Mike it was all amazing bar the Zoom on the flag.

The dance moves you did are awesome, now I see what glowsticking is or was that Glowstringing with a little glowsticking?

Wish we had locations like that in Manchester!

Oooh, I like the location a lot. The fades are quite nice too, with the freezeframing and all that. Good stuff. Nice choice of music, too!

Some constructive criticism: you should work on some more stuff on your left-hand side. All your throws come from the right, for example - it'd look nicer if you made it a little more symmetrical. smile

I like the glowsticky stuff. Very nice smile

This is a year old, you say? Well, time for you to make a new one then biggrin

really good. one of the best for some time.

only negative criticism i could came up with: even though some think the opposite, I think you should have a little more wraps. scince you're glowstringing, i'd think you should use the "strenghts" of the glowstringing... like the many wrap-variations.

i'd really like to see some more from you!

Yep, that's me.

The only Ravergirl who pops, tuts, raps, and does poi and glowsticking,

What can I say I love dance.

My next video will probably be in the same location, different shots of course. I dunno I really like that spot. Its very pretty up there.
Now that I've learned more in video/film I bet I can get some really good shots in too.

Thanks for the critiques and comments guys!

The flag bit? poor Americans, always getting beat up for living in a country that's actually patriotic.

I didn't like the fancy editing in the first half, I kept thinking there was somthing wrong with my media player, but that's just me.

Other than that....five stars and two thumbs up.. This video inspired me to try freehanding for the first time last night

Freehanding with a five foot staff? isn't that called contact? Wait a minute, isn't all staffing freehanding? Damn,,,now I'm confused ubblol

Yes,,,Canadians ( and Scandinavians ) sure do like their flags. but Canadians wear theirs so we don't get pegged as Americans. Many a Canadian has hauled a collection of Canadiana overseas with designs on supplementing their travel budget by selling it to Americans,,, I haven't heard if it ever worked though. I, personally don't do the flag thing myself, I'm way more subtle...like a Trailer Park Boys t-shirt.

Nice stringing!

Although I've gotta say, that against everybody elses opinion, I Didn't quite fancy the dance with the glowsticks... get some fire fans or something... too cheesy for my taste biggrin no offence!

And yes Scandinavians are proud as well hug
