it's in a similar ish way to programming, but also not at the same time...

We are the music makers, We are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams;
We are the movers and shakers of the world for ever, it seems.

Goodness, I only go away for one day and there's sloppy code everywhere biggrin

Singer: That's a pretty funky language. Never seen a version of basic with 2 lines the same number (nor one that starts at 0)

Sym: That's a pretty funky wall, i could use one of those (I could make a fortune out of drunk people!) wink

Sparkey: You missed a "

perl -e '$b=$ARGV[0];while($b>0){$a=" bottles of beer";$c=$a." on the wall";$d=" take 1 down, pass it around, ";print"$b$c, $b$a,$d".--$b."$c\n";}' 1000000000

The geek test's just silly, i got about 35% iirc. It was clearly written by a nerd who thought they were a geek wink

so, the two 5's were a typo, but when i was a bit younger i used a version of basic (sorry, don't remember the one) that was zero indexed. I was only dabbling in programming at that point, so I thought it was really cool to start with zero rather than one... thats a little simpler than writing bit torrent and irc clients in c.

oh,alsmost forgot... the c++ version has a slight problem with formatting; there is no space at the beginning of the string literals... your print out will format to:

10000bottles of beer...(if i is 10000).

whoops, missed another error in the c++ code... this ones a doozie... your loop's control is i>=0, making your last line:

0bottles of beer on the wall, 0 bottles of beer, you take one down, you pass it around-1bottles of beer on the wall

if you notice i've preserved the spacing you used.

i like ANSI C better than C++.

Hehe! Is my code the only one without any errors? OK, it's PHP, but it's also very simple!

I remember the tape games - oh the fun! Half an hour to load something that was 4 bits or something.

well Sym_, it has one problem... it doesn't give the last line correctly, every line prints i, where as, the last line should print i-1.

Dam, I shouldn't have said anything!

It loops until i>=1....so I won't get 0 bottles. right?

Maybe I could add an if so it will end it with what ever happens when you finish the song - If it's ever been finished.

true, there will never hit zero... the song just ends when the last line of a verse is 0 bottles of beer on the wall
