We call them handcuff wraps.

Unfortunately I kinda suck at them and often forget they exist but I've done em with fire (with gloves)...

Some call em spiral wraps too I think.

Today,,,I work on these,,but I was under the impression they were done from a weave, I'll try both weave and butterfly variations,,,see what happens

Most glowstringers refer to it as spiral and butterfly spiral, the butterfly spiral variation starting with a butterfly of course, and the weave version merely spiral.

For me, the trick to getting them with chains was holding the chains under my thumb. This way the chains wrap around the middle of my hand. And pull slightly after they recoil.

Easy as cheezy with sock poi. If you hold em under your thumbs.

The middle of the hand, yep, that is a challange. One thing I found helpful was to jam the finger loops down around the base of my fingers, rather than between the second and third knuckles, where I usually hold my poi.

I have to make my strings longer too, they're about four inches shorter than my usual length. Somehow, the wrap feels more complete with longer strings.

Catching the glowstick on a single hand wrap (somthing I wouldn't do with fire poi) is also providing hours of frustrating enjoyment
