Are there any other pyro types living in sleepy 'ol Cambridge these days?
Whats there to do in terms of fire spinning? Anyone want to meet up sometime and find out?

Hey! I'll be there this sunday, where abouts in cambridge you coming from? I cycle or walk from the train station. Get there for 6, and i'll be a friendly face. smile

There is also a firespin on monday night 9pm at jesus green bandstand.

Camcircus is on Sundays in the Citylife Building (was Howard Mallett Centre), Sturton Street, Cambridge, UK. Every Sunday (except July and August), 5-6 pm Beginners Juggling, 5-6.30 pm Beginners Trapeze, 6-8 pm Main Workshop (for more experienced jugglers). Costs 1.50 for beginners, 3 for trapeze, 3 for the main session (2.25 concessions).

hey guys! with lack of PLAY-age I was thinking about organising a meet for the weekend: I was going to sacrifice time that I didn't have to go to PLAY, but with PLAY out of the window I'm looking at alternatives:

South Wales meet: sounds good with lots of people potentially going, but campsite and travel costs putting me off (plus the whole time issue)

[Old link]

Secret Garden Party: in Huntingdon round the corner but tickets cost 125 eek although I hear good things, I'm not sure I can afford that

https://www.secretgardenparty.com/2008/

potential idea 3: have a cambridge meet, go camping next to the river on the weekend, a bit like poi in the punt, except without the punting and more spinning Because ActiveAngel sounds like a feminine deodorant

Hey all - I'm Cas, fairly new to poi, have been watching some of the playpoi videos and messing around with sock poi and would like to meet up with other Cambridge spinners.

Am I right that the two things to do are:
- Sundays with camcircus
- Saturdays with firetroupe
?

I'm planning to come along this Sat (tomorrow) to Firetroupe, so might see some of you there!

strawberry fair is in serious danger!

(copy from a message from SF organisers)

We need your help, we're having a little trouble with the local council, at a meeting on the 14th of November they are going to discuss options including forcing us to shut early or cancel the fair.

The main points are detailed in this article in our local newspaper https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/cn_news_home/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=363094

Could you all please email Julie Smith the councillor responsible for the decision at the city council with your views on the fair and copy enquiries@strawberry-fair.org.uk.

Please contact all your friends and ask them to do the same as well, we need a massive turnout to nip these attacks in the bud.

Also if you live in cambridge we'd love it if you could contact your local councillor
https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/ccm/navigation/about-the-council/councillors/
The ward you'll be in is listed here https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/ccm/cms-service/download/asset/?asset_id=8668070

If you need any help just contact me through facebook and i'll help you through the process.

We'll keep you in contact with the campaign as it progresses but please make sure you email julie smith as soon as possible

Strawberry Fair needs your help

Hey, Just in case anyone happens to stumble across this thread again....who's going to Latitude? Children laugh an average of 146 times a day; adults laugh an average of 4 times a day. Put more laughter in your day!!! A few clowns short of a circus! Damn right I'm good in bed - I can sleep for days!
