area, there is a stall in the market that sells a few cobra style poi, but no fire thing as far as i can see. HoP is the best place for them anyway.

I will be at the fireworks on firday as well, it'll be nice to meet a few spinners in the area as i've only just moved here.

It's quite a big place, are you planning to meet anywhere, or should i just look out for some spinners?

Lazy, I'll text/call you on friday to see where you are.

Area: HoP is the only place I would buy my first set of fire poi from. If you come along to a meet I'll you can try out a few different types.

Personally I recommend ballchain and then either cathedral or monkeyfist wicks. If you come to the meet we can have a chat about it. Also read the articles on different wicks etc. and do a search in the technical forum for 'chain'

May sound like a lot of effort to go to, but when you're playing with fire, it's best to have toys you can really depend on that feel comfortable to use

hey,
thanks for picking up my cup! It would be great if you could pick me up an extra bottle of paraffin.
Don't know how big this festival is going to be... are we going to be able to see each other, or should we arrange somewhere to meet tonight?
I'll be out there with glow toys + fire poi. Can't wait!

Henry? If it's the same Henry then he had them at the party afterwards - they were by the fire last time I saw them. I didn't leave them at the fireworks.

Are we on for Sunday the weather looks good for it...

Bah! The old 'it's too cold excuse' came out again from everyone! Not like it was raining or anything, and anyway you don't get cold if you spin lots of fire devil

mmm, sorry, I was one of the too cold people.

Mind you, I'm not really interested in spinning fire anyway, so a meet in the dark and cold wasn't very interesting to me!

Is anyone about the center at lunch times? I'd like a spin midweek sometime on my lunch break.

I should be around then. I'm currently searching for xmas employment at the moment tho so I'm unsure what times i'll be available.

A few people have been asking about day meets midweek tho. What times do you have free?

At the moment I'm working flexi-time so I can do more or less any time. Send me a text if you're in town at any point and want a spin - I'm working on regent street so quite close to the center.

Hello Cambridge Peeps,
Next week I'm going "up country", as we say down here.
I'm tootling over to stay in Haddenham (I know, I know, but I'll try and avoid the late night parties and raves) from Monday through to Thursday. Is anyone about next week that may be up for a spin?
biggrin

Um....actually I'm not sure that I would be a lot of help, Winged Avenger. But for the record, oy oy oy.

Thanks, Sym. Maybe we could all meet up on Thursday, if you're off around then too, Vampyricacid.
Having said that, I have absolutly nothing planned for Tuesday through to Thursday, so I'll give you a bell when I know when I'll be in town, Sym. It'd be great to meet you guys.

So...After work or at lunch? It's dark after work so that limits us to glow and fire...is that a problem to anyone else?

Hey all. I'm thinking of coming to a sunday poi meet. I joined some fire poiers on fireworks night (very nice people, I feel like I owe them for the paraffin) and did a google search to find this forum. I've been wanting to do it again even since (learning at home is pretty dull).

Sunday night is tough though. Trains aren't as reliable on sundays and I'd have work the next day. Anyone interested in doing fire poi meets on a friday night, or some week nights? I guess what I'm trying to say is it would be so much easier for me to go from work one evening and meet up rather than travelling on a sunday.

Hi Steve! LazyAngel was talking about getting a hall or something to spin in. I think it's a good idea and i'd like to see it turn in to a regular meet.

Where are you coming from?

I was also at the fireworks, although i don't remember anyones names or anything!

Hope to see you soon hug
