hmmm

so me and a few others were thinking of making an event instead of glastonbury, for those of us who couldnt get tickets cuz they were expensive, or those of us who ahd the money and tried for 5 odd hours to get through with no luck

anywho i dont know where it would be most convinient for most people pink said london......seems like a good idea cuz of the megabus and all that

it would be like a mini falmouthy sort of thing i guess.....i could get some bands to play possibly

any takers?

i think that fnf's idea of one of these party things isnt a bad idea, if we camp near where one of these crazy mad parties is likely to be happening we could spin on friday spin on saturday and sunday daytime then [censored] off home:)

what dya think?

i hear ya dude however:

The types of parties fnf is talking about will be very unpredictable with regard to timing and "exact" location - as for pitching a tent for a few days next to one........ it probably wont happen.......

I say with enough interest we could form our own party anyways - all we need is a location so............ suggestions

Please add to list

im loving this idea biggrin

tho camping in london... cant really see it happening...

polzeath... i love that place.. three good camp sites all within a mile of each other and a nice beach... tho the locals may not want a spin/music festie there

tho seeing as its a 45min drive from falmouth, theres no real point...

what about doing a poll like in the falmouth thread with different areas in the country. each person can pick 2 of the best places and 2 of the worst........? and have places ranging from north west to the south west.....? i dunno, just an idea. that way can get an idea of where abouts it will be then can try and find campsites.

im glad people are interested, erm......... right anyway .... from what most people have said in this thread, we should have it either somewhere enough outside of london, for it to be possible for camping.......or somewhere with a beach, i have no idea, which is silly, but we need someone to step forward and say here are some options, they need to conside peoples travelling times and costs, also if there is any hostels near, etc etc

also the date has been confirmed as the weekend of glastonbury

been browsing for ages to try and find something and stumbled across this..

Hostel

Newquay

Independent youth hostel, overlooking beach. Very central, no curfews, self-catering, dormitory-style accommodation. Relaxed atmosphere, licensed bar.

£8.00 - £17.00 Per Room per night, breakfast included

is it just me or does that sound good?

im searchin, but dont wanna just pick places cause i dont know what you guys are interested in or want to do. any suggestions?

ill book mark that page just in case.

also checked trains jus for xtra info. e.g. manc to newquay return approx £45, and london to newquay approx £35, both returns...

If you want bands - rather than a beach start looking inland - more like kind farmers letting you use their land.

I vote Bristol or the surrounding area as a good location, maybe somebody could look into the scout field that the Bristol Juggling convention was held last year. Good views, easy to find (just off the Aztec West junction of the M5), good facilities and the prospect of being able to have music.

Woodhouse Park, Almondsbury if anyone wants to investigate.

I be up for something that weekend and am mad enough to drive for miles (if I'm allowed!) What a great way to start my summer holidays!!

Music = lots more organising required.

im not too fussed where abouts it is as long as travel doesnt cost a bomb, so can pretty much go anywhere apart from london.
it'll be cool to have bands playin, jus thinking though that who would and also where would they play? will they have all the equipment and power suply needed? if anything they really need to be sorted soon as.
im ok with bristol.....anyone else?
