Ever spent MONTHS perfecting some difficult nitty-gritty technical move only to find that nobody even noticed it and instead everyone loves it when you just throw a staff in the air and catch it again??? biggrin biggrin

So for any of your toys:
What are your alltime favourite cheap tricks?

every time I'm spinning for a crowd and pulling off flowers and hyperloops and what I find to be more difficult moves, all anyone calls out for is the buzzsaw (or "that thing where it goes real close to your face"). It's one of the easiest moves for me to do, and I can yawn while people think I'm cheating death!

do you believe in something beautiful?
then get up and be it.

definately cheapest and best has to be a staff burnoff crowds go nuts ubblol

followed closely by throws and most popular are drops (as long as you have a nice drop recovery (cartwheel or leg flick up)

juggling cheap trick has to be the machine with balls or mikes mess with clubs

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

I made up a staff move I call 'The Slinky'

It's almost more like a devil stick move than anything

Hold the staff horizontally in front of you on the backs of your hands above head level, nudge the staff up with one hand so it spins over the the other and catch it in the same starting position but at waist level then repeat with it ending up at knee level...

The effect should look like a slinky going down the stairs

biggrin

video please beautiful smile

A kiss blown is a kiss wasted, the only kind of kiss is a kiss tasted.

I'm a woman. We don't say what we want, but we reserve the right to be pissed off if we don't get it. That's what makes us so fascinating and not just a LITTLE bit scary.

For me?

Definitely a real simple under-the-shoulder wrap to change the direction of the spin.

Its so silly, but people love it. tongue

with nunchucks its definatly speed and bounceing it off parts of your body (like wraps but alot faster)

going fast is realy easy with nunchucks they wanta go fast its harder to do em slow and with bounces (which are a peice of piss) you can reverse there direction very fast and easly to. meening unlike poi you dont realy have to plan what your going to do next and if you suddenly realise you can't go any further in the direction your going you just bounce it and go back the way you came smile

but over all i think burn off on staff is definaltly the cheepist trick of all first thing i ever learnt with fire and still gets one of the best audiance responces biggrin

Catches... catch that poi and let go of it (different direction) - that's my cheapest and always impresses the audience (nts tricks seem to work ALL the time)

the best smiles are the ones you lead to wink
