wavehello yo peeps! (and yellow people!) wavehello

It's that time again, where you check your pocket lining for spare cash and cry "mum, I need money to go to every summer festival under the sun!!"help

So, since noone really has such a source of income, and one must be selective about such things, its time to get priorities right.... play with fire!! devil Play with lots of people who play with fire!! devil cool ubbrollsmile

So here's the deal from IN FIRE this year: (warning: official sounding blurb)hehe

Written by:

We at IN FIRE are this year organising the ‘Convention of fiery arts‘ for the growing fire-spinning culture in Europe. Running from the 8th to the 10th of July in southern Styria, Austria, we’re offering a safety training workshop with the fire brigade – including a certificate of completion, workshops, fire playground, Open Stage, shopping for all things juggling and fire spinning, plus of course the opportunity to learn and exchange tricks with fire-spinners from around the world.

Our convention is a part of the 3rd ‘Festival of Fiery Arts’, in which Flame Oz, tePOOKa, Rubberheart Duo plus other international guests will be taking part. Check out the website: https://www.fieryarts.net.
The final details for the Convention will be added in the next few weeks.

Pre-registration is already up and running.

We hope to see you at the convention!

Fiery greetings

The IN FIRE team

right, so there's all your decicions made really - cancel all other plans and come to austria for the convention of fiery arts. Couldn't be simpler wink

Thats a bit random, for a poi related forum isn't it??

I would have thought the simple answer would be: Don't do it then!

I will hold onto all the pants I own...
and then remember that I'm not allowed any fun at all this summer cos I have to finish writing up
and then cry

but at least I can blow my nose on the abundant pants shrug

This year is quite different actually. The previous 2 years the feuerfest was a performance-based event. Various fire-spinning groups could apply to be a part of it and only come by invitation as paid performers.

Last year 100 performers were involved.... which proved to be financially inviable frown and this year we could only afford 25 frown frown

BUT ubbidea so that more people could come, and also so that the Feuerfest could benefit the fire-community not just the spectators in Austria, this year we are hosting a convention - the 'Convention of Fiery Arts' parallel to the performance event! ubbrollsmile grouphug And the price for the convention includes entry to see the Saturday's performance cool

So, no, the numbers are not limited to 100 bounce bounce2

and we're getting very excited about it already! ubbloco... well I am at least weeeeeeeeeee! ...should probably stop weeing in my posts though. redface

I came with my bike from England last year! wowubbrollsmile ...but to be fair I didn't actually cycle the whole way. Um, it was quite pathetic really - about 80k in from Calais I jumped on a train and spared my poor little legs redface

But interrail rocks cool

so reading the website - it is the last weekend that is the convention? I ask because I'll probably not be able to do more than a long weekend, and am wondering which one it should be - the beginning or the end.

hmmmm.... I wanna go! Fly to Austria, play with fire, take train to parents for dad's 60th birthday... sounds like a cool plan, unless he decides to celebrate it on the same weekend! it's all so complicated... but I really really wanna go!!
