I am having trouble finding information on Tabaco and Nicotine. It seems to be easier to find good info for harder drugs ?!?
So can anyone recommend websites that have good information on issues like
chemical effects on the body
addictiveness
history and tabaco in other cultures
....

thx a lot

andy

that one has a nice explanation on how nicotine actually works. it's overall anti-smoking, but doesn't exaggerate much I feel.

for addictive effects I think the biased sites may have some points wink anyways, try some support groups, they're bound to have some info to explain people why they'll find it hard to stop smoking!

I'm not sure what you're after but the wikipedia sites seem very good to me:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotine
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco_smoking

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

That is pretty rude.

I'll just point out that the original post was very well titled-

'Looking for information on Nicotine '

This enables anyone who's not interested in such a thread to simply not bother checking it out.

It might be rude, but just try googling the subject! Apart from the HoP link there is a load of sites there. Also the Wikipedia links I gave are very informative (IMHO). Google and wikipedia should be used as a starting point for any search, not a forum where other people do the searching for you.

The amount of quiestions I've seen where I've just googled it and came up with a good reply is amazing. IE: "doesn't one know where I can find out about 'xyz'" > google xyz > post reply. easy!

PoiBox, aside from our off-topicness, did you find what you wanted?

My Apology's to anyone who took my post the wrong way.
When i said its an actual website you should check it out.
i meant that its funny that someone would actually go to the trouble of making a website like that and pay the fee of hosting it.

I wasnt trying to flame. Sorry if it was misunderstood.

Cheers for pointing that out; I did misunderstand what you were saying.

There is a tendency on HOP for some to post quite aggressively about doing a search, and I saw your post as being of that kind. Now you've explained I can see that it wasn't.

So apologies from me for taking it the wrong way.

mee too - smile

Sym you are right - you should use search engines not rely on other people's brains. But often it's also good to ask others what they found useful. Nobody here is required to help anyone else, they do so because they want to. smile Just like the links you posted. Cheers biggrin
