Posted:Sorry just need to get this out of my head before i have a break down.

Why the hell does every one around me keep coming to me with all their problems and think that i can help them??? They just expect me to help, but if i go to them for help they say, Oh sorry Roman maybe another time, yeh!!! WELL SOD YOU!!!!! It's not as if i haven't got enough on my mind as it is.
People make me so MAD!!!!
And if i do help them i never get so much as a thankyou.

Sorry just needed to get that off my chest. I didn't know where elce to shed this load i've been carrying.

Does any one elce get this problem where you do your best for those around you that you love but end up with them tossing it back in your face???
Don't mind me just feeling REALLY low this week.

Can some one please send me a huge box of hugz and a jar of pickled eggs please????

Thanks
A terribly depressed Trippy

for you

i am sorry to hear you're feeling depressed...

i know what you mean and I know the feeling but let's try and see it from an other angle.

What you do for people : give the love, cheer them up etc ... you are doing to yourself as well... no thank you ? hmmm.. I know that one hurts sometimes, but try and think you do stuff "for free" and don't get too upset. You did make it better for them, that takes a lot of heart and love and respect and energy ... be proud of yourself, don't waste that energy being mad at them for not recognizing what you did for them . if they don't ... I feel sorry for them because "thank you" is a beautiful thing to say to whoever made you smile

Yet sometimes it's just too much... and in this case just be good to yourself and be your own guardian angel... I mean you have the right to be down, sad, lonely and you have the right to say "sorry, mate, can't do anything at the moment cause I ned a hug too" ... your real friends will understand and act accordingly and tenderly.

i have found that I have all sorts of friends. to some of them I am just being their bouncy ball of energy , cheering them up and that makes me happy... I just know I should never expect them to support me ...

others i have serious conversations with, but can't get too personnal ... 'tis all right as well ...

and some people i have everything with ... and those are my closest friends...

but in general i try not to expect too much from people ... exactly for that reason : to not be too disappointed or even bitter ...

And I also try to think (I say TRY) always that noone owes me anything ...

That being said ... i am really sad to hear you feel bad...

And My PM is open to you for a chat

It is often the way that the person that people depend on find that they have nobody to turn too when they too need help. Its hard always trying to be strong, for yourself and others and frustrating when those who you give your time and a bendy ear too are totally unsupportive when you need to sound off.

I feel your pain becuase I am such a carpet in these matters!

I wish I had some helpful advice for you. But all you can do is talk to the person who has let you down. They will either talk it through and try to be more considerate and if they make no effort to make friendship / relationship more equal it is usually because the friendship is more one-sided than you imagined which can be painful to admit. You will soon realise who are true mates and who would ditch you in a nanosecond if a better offer came along!

Posted:Trippy Hippy,

Your mistake is to put other people before yourself, and you should never, ever do that.

Think of it this way; if someone came to you now, needing advice or attention or just to offload, and you are feeling depressed and angry, could you genuinely be any help to them?

Unless you are superhuman the answer is no, so at some point you have to draw a line and say "right, I'm going to have a break from worrying about Fred, and enjoy myself for a bit".

Much better to pick them up to your level of happy than to let them drag you down into their misery.

Hope that helps,

Magnus... pay it forward

Cartman says "French people piss me off" the irony of the statement is he is talking about a English boy...
The quote came to mind seeing a angry 'hippy'

HI! how are you feeling today?
have things settled a bit since your first post?

i can understand about being taken for granted, it sounds like that is the main problem here, and lack of support in return.

Magnus had a point (kinda) in that your job is to take care of yourself first and foremost. I would think of it this way. you obviously have a gift of empathy and providing support for those that need it. Remember too, that you need to support yourself, And that may mean having time out from helping others, to recharge your batteries.

You seem a lovely helpful soul, so *hugz* hang in there! If you need hugz or to talk any time PM me, i am happy to be a listening ear ` and remember! HoP loves you! xoxoxoxox

Posted:Mr. Hippy, as I see it you have two choices.

#1) You can keep being good person and help people when they need it with out expecting anything in return (oddly this is what the entire new testament of the bible is based on)

Or option #2) You tell them all to jolly well bugger off because they're all complete and utter bastards with no regaurd for anything but their own bollocks, but fuck them they're all a bunch of sheep humping gits anyway.

I suppose it would come down to which option you feel more comfortable with

As someone who knows how rotten that can be, have a big .

Part of the problem that I have is that I am rotten at asking for help. Oh, don't get me wrong, I do ask. It is just that everyone else weeps & wails and people really know they need help. I can be a pretty uptight person sometimes, who doesn't like to be a burden or seem to overly-dramatic, and so I say "I need some help, when you are free" in a quiet cool voice, and people just here the quiet cool voice & don't take it really seriously. I gotta get better at it.

I have also been known to hang out with some pretty non-observant people...

But I do have some really close mates, who know that when I say "I need some help, when you are free" in a quiet cool voice, I actually really really need some help...

It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.

What this calls for is a special mix of psychology and extreme violence...

Posted:Trippy Hippie - that's what you get for being competent and nice at the same time. flake out a few times or just start saying no. Either that, or just start taking some pride in being a good person.

Got no pickled eggs, but I'll fax a hug right over!
