Hmmmm....

If every group of people stereotyped by South Park got offended....

no one (including myself) would regard the creators as comedy genius's of our generation.

I think their observation and sense of humour is generally the sharpest around. Cuts all viewers at least once per season.

But the moral of the story is usually spot on.

haven't seen the episode btw (unless it's the 'hate crimes' episode which is brilliant...)

cartman hates hippies and everything they do. shrug thats life. But it doesnt matter, because cartman is irrelavant to the moral most of the time, so just ignore him biggrin

the hate crime was hilarious!

Southpark wouldn't be so funny if a lot of the things they say on the show weren't so.................true.

Take the hate crime episode, does anybody remember the speech the end? the one where the creators explain their political views and why they made that episode.

The Die Hippie die episode will be aired again on Sunday.

What is a hippie anyway? is it a fashion statement? a state of mind ?

Don't take it personally, they are simply jesting. It's how they work, they take some small aspect of life and dramatise it and make fun of it. If South Park was politically correct, it would have gone off the air within it's first season.

Plus as we all learned when the town went to Hell... "the correct answer was Mormon, sorry, that's what we were looking for, Mormon"

IMO the main reason why the majority of people don't get offended by south park is that they take the p**s out of almost everything and everybody so they are sometimes seen as not discriminating against one certain group

We are the music makers, We are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams;
We are the movers and shakers of the world for ever, it seems.

anyone who thinks burningman is a "weekend music festival" has NO IDEA what burninman is, and their opinion is therefor irrelevant. Especially Cartman's...

I don't know why everyone assumes it was a stab at Burning Man (I've seen it mentioned elsewhere)... maybe because BM has more exposure than Rainbow and the "real" weekend hippie music festivals.

People who love Burning Man know it to be the complex beast that it is... incredibly beautiful, but with loads of problems and issues of its own.

South Park is one of the truest forms of satire left, untainted by political correctness. What makes satire so amusing is the truth that it is based on.

And the BM one has been on a couple times now and I find it hysterical.

Agree totally.

The "Team America" film is a great example of how they make real satire by mocking everybody. In TA they mock the pro-war and anti-war lobby in equal measure.
