it depends on the context:
if i'm part way through pouring a pint and stopped its half full
if i'm part way through drinking a pint then its half empty
similarily if i see a half full/empty pint on a table in a pub i presume it used to be full in which case it is now half empty...
is that just too boring a way to look at the world?

well i usually either say it's half full or..
that all depends on what's in it and how fast i can drink it!!

personally i gave up bothering and now take the few that if its half anything alcoholic its half too much and i should be got another (4 or 5)

the downside of the glass is closed and the up site is open
so if you go drinking (wit a straw, ofcourse) you will soon be at the bottom. but if you pour more in it will run over soon.
so that makes it ... ehm ... half ... ehm
