Alright – I’ll make a comprise with you! No names, but numbers!

20 acts on the night: 5 staff, 6 poi, 8 glow and 1 team! Members from Fire Vision, FenFire UK, Soton Fire Spinning, Burnt Toast and Misc. We have a good 3 hours of competition spinning – so after dusk this comp is pretty full.

Free Style Team Section has the largest cash prize – and it looks like (at the moment) no one can face competing against Fire Vision – which I completely understand as they are good!ubblol So this section already looks to be in the bag – although they would be delighted with a challenger if any team would like to give it a go. A team only needs two of more members who have not already entered two other fire only sections.

As for DsAds - they don't appear to have entered. If anyone has been thinking of entering and not yet done so - it would be best to do so soon - as when you do the maths - dusk till 12-ish minus time per contestant - there's very little space left and entering the Factory may have to close early wink

Strugz - did you get Mat's email? - Just in case you didn't - your DJ is welcome to bring more tunes with him and join ours to share the decks for the eve.

Durbs - CJ counts as glow - you can still enter two fire sections (Poi and Staff) if you like.

Onfire sent us some T-Shirts yesterday - so you'll have to find some more room in your boots!

Don't forget to bring your insurance and ID on Sat - see you there!! wink

Hi there....

I want to update this thread to say a few things to the people who entered and to update those who were not there. So here goes… wink

THANK YOU (again) to all those that competed – your performances were out of this world – I never expected to meet such talented people. Your performances were magic and I hope you all enjoyed doing it.

I’ve had great feed back from the pub and everyone I’ve met since who watched. The judges said they felt privileged to have been asked to judge your performances and found it difficult deciding a winner as everyone was excellent.

The winners were:

Solo Staff: Strugz
Solo Swinging: Durbs
Glow: Durbs

I may organise another one at some point now its been done once (most likely next year, September time, more sponsors, bigger prize money etc…), so if anyone would want to help out with this, has some ideas, let me know. biggrin

Durbs – I hope you got your rope poi back.

T'was a fun (although a little strange) night - thanks for putting it on!

The cd's 2Bag's - I'll leave him to tell you what it is.

Next year... hmmm....not sure. Partly, I might not be here to defend my title ( wink ) as I'm off round the world - but also, I'm not sure about the whole competition thing. A "communal show" where everyone performed would be good, I'm just not sure I liked the whole "judging" thing. I don't think it's what any of our arts are about. Basically, what you did, only without the judges. If it was "crowd reaction" based, it'd be different, I just didn't like the post-comp feeling... Didn't really feel that happy as it seemed to have pissed a few people off, it kind of detracted from the pride in "winning"

Was very cool however to meet lots more spinners, although I'm kicking myself for not finding out what Death Stars, 7-beat annhilators or Super Sleuths are biggrin
