Two weeks ago, I received my shiny new aerotech Glodevilstick pro. Purple/yellow. Very pretty. ubblove

I opened the box, noticed it was fully charged, and proceeded to play with it like a demon. devil I was having lots of fun with the pretty, flashing lights, and I dropped it. not a hard drop, just your average drop. It even landed on the rubber end that is supposed to absorb the shock from it hitting the ground. Ever since before that drop, it's had a slight rattle to it as well.

Well, Now, two weeks later, It's decided it wants to be completely buggered. The first time it ran out of charge, I put it on to recharge (as you do) and left it overnight to replenish it's power supply. I awoke in the morning to find it strobing really fast as if to say "I'm charged". Later on, I used it again and after a few minutes it decided to die, as if there were no power left in it. It turned on again when I woke it up, but proceeded to die again shortly afterwards. I've checked that it's not the timer, and it doesn't seem to be, it just likes to turn itself off whenever I'm in the middle of using it.

It also decides to change the setting it's on whenever I turn it on as well. The rubber bits at the end are looking as if they're corroding already as well. They look as if they are breeding dirt just under the surface and I haven't even got it dirty, or used it outside at all. And now it sounds more like a baby's rattle than a devilstick whenever I use it.

Two weeks old, and already faulty.

Has anyone else experienced stuff like this? Am I the only one?!

Because they repair them for you, free of charge as long as it was their fault and not something you did.
Plus they are incredible quality, better than most anything else out there.
Look at some of the pict ures in the galleries of the aerotechs, absolutely amazing!

What problems do you people experience with aerotechs? Is mine a one off thing?

If it keeps happening, why don't aerotech do something to rectify these faults?

When i first got my staffs, one of them was doing exactly the same thing as your deveil stick frown

But i sent it back and they gladly replaced it, i believe its something to do with the chips memory, sometimes it needs resetting, as for the reasons why - - - who knows!

I am pleased to say though that ive had my staffs back in one piece for about 2months now - theyve had your average drops and still work great biggrin

and they look F******G awesome!

Thats why they are worth the money wink

me love aerotechs.

Mine used to act weird but tis fine now.

Mine a red and blue, but mine sometimes turned off after a while. It wasnt the timer, and thecharge was full. so it was a similar prob 'cept there wasno rattleing. I left it for a while, and it now works perfectly.

The existance of flamethrowers says that someone, somewhere, at sometime said "I need to set that thing on fire, but it's too far away."

I've got Aerotech. The only problems I've had is a split ball - fixed for £8 as it was after a year and my meteor ends needed replacing once, for which they sent me replacements free.

If something's gone wong with your Aerotech call them up, bung it in the post, and they'll sort it out.

Faults happen on goods, and whilst Aretoech might be able to do things to make thier stuff better you have to remember they're making low volume goods for a small market of people who'll basically abuse thier products endlessly.

i own 4 tech proballs and in the past year and a half Ive actually had three to juggle with for i'd say about 4/5 months..
to be fair i am pretty relaxed with who I let use them in clubs and so on, but they are just overpriced flashy toys and i cant really deny people the fun of learning to juggle in the dark at 5am
maybe i should be tighter with them? cant see it happening tho really

solid colour aerotechs rock.

everything else they make will end up breaking.

but to be fair, we don't just drop them do we - we throw them up in the air first and then let them hit the floor at a much higher speed, just to make sure they break wink

and boom shankar - if it happens that often, you should consider buying 3 of these things to dish out to people who wanna learn - could save you a fair bit of cash in the long run... smile

yep, probably should do... ive been wondering where you get those squashy glowies from, are they as sturdy as you'd think theyd be? i think aerotech should sort it out and make something a bit like these maybe, but with all the power of their other stuff..

hmm ive seen nearly as many one colour globalls break as proballs, but yeah, jugglers aren't always the most sensible of pepole are we.. biggrin

really? eek

do you mean solids or one colour strobes (which are technically the same as proballs but with the extra colour good bits 'switched off')?

up until just now i was all convinced that i should just buy white solids and be less likely to end up with broken balls... frown

damn.

cos i didn't like juggling them *that* much - plus i like the roundy hardness of aerotechs.

if only they were 30g lighter...

i spoke to someone at notts that has juggled the passe passe balls lots and they said they are still pretty tempremental.

something about them randomly going dim and having to clean the contacts regularly to keep them bright.

if i'm going to spend money, i might as well get more of what i have - i would only need another three aerotechs as opposed to 5 passe passe balls.

i think a set of 3" fergies are higher up my wanted list right now anyway.

besides i can wait ages for glowy things - i play in london and every other bugger down here has aerotech balls that i can ponce whenever i fancy wink

yeah in leeds theres a lot of people with only 2 aerotechs at the moment which sort of works out ok..
i too was under the impression that 1 colour globalls were fairly indestructable cuz it was all about the programming messing up, but Ive seen quite a few break the same way as pro/stroballs- they tend to come back on if you tap or squeeze them as if they were programmable.. never trust an aerotech, no matter how careful you are with them theyre always gonna leave you screwed the first time you get a job juggling or as soon as the warranty runs out mad

techs are efectivly really complex (at any level static colour or pro balls) circuits, and as circitry is all small and fiddlie, they are bound to break when you durop then hard

as cole says we dont really use the product, we go out and highly abuse it with throws and drops, and and catches

so thye are only bound to break

but....if you are carefull about using them, and looking after them, they will work ok for a while
if you are giging with them, you can pay to repair them
