Coinage fans might like to know, the coins ranged from my favourite, the 1971 two pence piece, to the 2004 penny.

It wasn't long before I realised that it would be far quicker to remove the trigger top, and pour the mysterious fluid into the container.

I see he didnt actually use it on any part of a bathroom though. Which is its primary use. Not just to make your dirty coins all shiney.

Its makes them shiney.

Then they tarnish again.

Which is the genius behind the invention of Cillit BANG (BANG! And the dirt is gone)! It's a neverending cycle of consumers cleaning coins, then the coins tarnish again, then they buy more Cillit to clean them.. then they dirty again.. and it goes on and on.

Let's face it - Cillit BANG is the ultimate product.

I wouldn't be surprised if the introduction of copper coins wasn't just a forerunner for the bringing out of Cillit BANG. In fact, it seems very likely...

It's like the cycle of life.. birth, death and renewal.

I wouldn't be surprised if Barry Scott isn't worshipped as some kind of religious figurehead in a few centuries. Absolving us of our filthiness, offering a new path when the old one becomes fetid..

Or, erm, you're right. smile

Tom Corran, senior vice president of Reckitt Benckiser in the UK, said: 'We added the word BANG to Cillit because it describes the product well. It conveys its power to solve tough, stubborn stains.

'The ad isn't necessarily meant to look like a spoof, that is in the eye of the beholder. It is just to catch the eye.'
