Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourself, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous and talented? Who are you NOT to be?

It was sad to see so much fire in the last COL.

I guess COL has different meaning to many of you.
To me it means...
Circles = type of motion with a pivot point & groups
Light = Inspiration & so we can see you & gathering point

I personally do not want to just see Fire

I agree personaly i would have loved for some more unformal socks spinning but with some crazy tech in. Thats just becase i prefere to have my mind expanded instead of just the safe tricks that can pulled of with chains in comparison that is. But still it was a good vid.

you'd best forget about col for a bit...

to best illustrate this, let me tell a parable.

An obviousely drunk, naked pirate walks into a pub, dressed in nothing, except a big hat, and a pair of boots, and a steering wheel hanging from his eek... HE walks up to the bartender, slaps gold coin down on the bar, and says, "Gimme a drink! Rum!"

The bar tender hands him the drink, and doesn't say a word.

The pirate downs it and says, "I'll have another!"

The bar tender gives him another rum, but this time he asks the pirate.... "Excuse me sir, but did you know you have a steering wheel hanging from your eek

The pirate says, "Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I know, it's driving me nuts!"

ha ha. I get it.

I'm just super excited about the COL6. I just looked at the line up and the Czechs are in and Mexico and Singapore and some of my old faves like Datana and One Wheel Dave. Yayy!!!!

My fire sister, Lindsay and I were talking about making a black light video, but alas we slacked. Hopefully next year, but in the meantime, I really want to get a copy of COL6 and I'm just soooo thrilled that Malcolm didn't cancel this wonderful, amazing, inspiring record of some of the best spinners in the world.

woo hoo! biggrin

I've just finished watching COL 5 and have 3 and 4 sitting at home waiting, tempting me to sit and admire for hours and hours...

I wanted to say thank you to Malcolm and to everyone who has volunteered time, effort and resources into producing something for the videos.

I find these videos inspiring, funny, fabulous, amazing, and something to be viewed with the joy that goes with twirling.

I don't mind if you are techy plus or simple and flowy and only do 'circles' - it's all part of the rich variety of spinning and people who spin - I love it ubblove ubblove

I don't mind if you spin in your bedroom or on a beautiful beach surrounded by fire, the fact that you are playing, love what you are doing and are prepared to share that with us - is much appreciated hug

thanks clap bounce2 bounce thankx

I think there should be a $1 USD entry fee, or something like that. Then, everyone who submitted, whether or not they were accepted can vote and the winner can get a HoP gift certificate in the amount of however many submissions. That way the people who get to vote are the ones who contributed, which is fair, and I do not know ANYONE who would go through the trouble and expense of making an entry and not being able to drop 1 extra dollar. For all those folks in England it less than a pound! That way there can be a competetive spirit, and a prize, and still not be a fiscal downfall for Malcolm.

I am not sure on the policy on multiple submissions, but anyone submitting multiple entries would pay for eac submission, but only get one vote.

What does everyone else think? I think this is a good compromise, and I knwo that I wouldnt mind sending an extra buck in with a submission, I cant imagine anyone would...

yay!!! hug great idea m8...that way everybody is happy biggrin

Although $1 is a trivial amount, it will be highly inconvenient for some if it has to be submitted by the normal means ie those who don't have a credit card, can't get the paypal/switch thing to work etc.

Hopefully if there was an admission fee this would be taken into account by allowing personal cheques.

However, personally I don't like the idea; given that generally there seems to be only around 60 entrants pre year, the resulting prize isn't going to be that great, and if the entrance fee is raised to give a better prize, then some people won't enter.

$5 will put people off, especially those who can't pay due to lack of a credit card.
