Posted:26th Feb 2005I just had a great idea for making a pair of fire fingers etc...
Get a pair of hockey gloves, you can have flames fairly close to your hands too as those things are really think.
Put small holes through to hold the torches/wicks and then you can do what ever you want for wicking. A worn in pair would allow for good movement of the fingers etc...

Posted:1st Mar 2005Intrigued instantly at the mention of utterly gorgeous fire fingers..feeling very like how a 5 year old must lust after barbie, but then Im not exactly a barbie girl : )

Was also thinking of something like a gauntlet - would love to find out more about various options as I'd like to have some to play with in the summer. So a while off (as the snow flurries outside) but something thought I should start researching now.

i have uploaded a picture into my gallery done in paint, of one of my finger fan ideas

its to be used inside the tip of a standard glove, not requiring extra padding on the outside to hold it in plave

using barss tubing and plate, you need to cut the funn shape on the right of the picture to make the finger cup, once cut, bend into a three dimentional finger shape and solder shut

making the wick -

take a thin tube of bass, and attach the wick, now as your tube will be to small to fit a screw to, you will have to sow your wick to itslef and secure it to the tube in a secret way (im not going to make this totaly easy for you)

one you have done that solder your tube to your finger tip, and cut open a glove finger tip, and slide in, once in either glue or sow the flaps of the gloves finger tip over teh brass finger cup and tube, and you are done.

Posted:29th Mar 2008I've never heard of these, I would think gauntlets would be safer since your fingertips are protected in your hand from the fire.

But I imagine the fire fingers look nicer since you can move the fingers to add to the visual effect.
