It is not for us to demand that hop sell things! It is for us just to buy their products and not reason why.

Why should they sell any old product? Why not just buy them from the company that makes em?

Why doesn't hop sell satsumas~ Maybe hop doesn't like satsumas?

supply and demand, the demand bit is like: the amount of demand for a particular product, not going into a grocery and say: I demand you sell me a prickly pear! Even if they don't have prickly pears on sale.

I don't go into shops and demand they sell products they don't sell, I go to a shop that does sell that product instead. And it's even easier on the internet. Why do people go around asking hop to sell things? And if people did, why do they post on the forum and not e-mail malcolm instead?

huh?

well if it has to be about fruit then. if the shop was closer and cheaper and i liked it more and wanted to display customer loyalty then i would not hesitate to email HOP and ask them if they would consider selling my favorite pears.

the benefit of putting it in a thread is that people (like me) who didnt even know that those pears existed now have an opurtunity to show intersest, create demand, make hop money and get a discount for having waaayy to many posts and purchases and other ramdon point giving reasons.

also, its against the rules to advertise for other companies on HOP is it not? thus loki found a loop hole in the form of a question. im just being picky now though.

now, are these sticks any good?

I think for malcome he has to be very happy with a product to sell it.

as for supply and demand

that only works if you can deffo ensure the demand

EVER staffer i have talked about who is serious about staff has only eber said oen thing areotechs

there is nothing that comes close to the level of tech and craftsmanship of tech

streetlight staffs are not a patch, and there is only one staff i have seen *ferreltech* staffs that come close, but they cant be made to the same size as techs, and not full colour.

There is no point in malcome buying in 10 staffs, when he would have to buy a bulk order of maybe 500 to make it worth it for him to do it?

with recent talks with jo over at illuminati, there products themselves are heading to be even better, with the aid that you can actually enter in your own stobe patterns, colour changes etc at the touch of a button they are going to be even better than the first prototypes.

I have to agree that areotechs are good! they have been a market leader for many years now and they certainly know what they are doing but i also think that they have lacked a lot of progression, they have only really ever been strengthened, the programs have always remaind the same, and they are available in diffrerent colour patterns but with illuminati using every colour available in one tube that is some thing that aerotech will always lack unless the pull their fingers out and improve their already good and market leading product.

I also know how frustrating these toys can be when you look at the cost, but then why would you waste money on cheap crap toys that you will have to replace after a few drops to the floor when you can save a little and fall in love with some thing that is pretty much guarenteed not to break and if it does then it comes complete with warrenty.

Im not trying to big up illuminati or any thing, i'm nbot employed by them is any one things that i am doing market research etc.. im not jo is a friend and has been an inspiration in my spinning for almost 4 years and is a very close personal friend and i also like the fact that he has created illuminati and his sole purpose is to give the community a good programable toy... designed by in my eyes one of the most proficient spinners in the world and made by himself jsut for us and with his electronics trade behind him can give us a toy we can cream over.

my own personal words: I love aerotechs i will continue to rate them and plug them, im in no way anti aerotech and im in no way working for illuminati.

illuminati is hoping to launch mid march.. i guess i will hear on how the meeting with the investors went this week as to if every thing has been finalised and i will be sure to post the information for whomever is interested in them.

Aerotechs are much brighter and speckier than glowbug.... but much less reliable.... we've had to send the ruddy things back and forth from UK to get them fixed... and they always seem to be on a low battery after charging them for ages and compleatly naff and not work when you just really need them too (like in the middle of a gig)

and by the way.... Malcolm I think you are doing an awesome job with your resorces biggrin Everyone is SO lucky to have such an amasing sight as this with access to so much info and equiptment smile.:* .:*wishes there was something like this 10 years ago when first starting out*:.

did you know that aerotechs are to be on charge all of the time, the only time they are not plugged in to the mains is when you are using them, that is why you have battery problems.

pk.. thanks for the tip, but we have had ours on charge permanently and still have no luck with them.. they just won't charge up... never have... We have hardly ever used them because of this... just been sitting in a corner (plugged into the wall) for a couple of years untouched frown
probably time to do something about it again since they were a very big investment..
We did send some of them back to the uk and they sent them back charged, but as soon as we used them again they lost charge and we couldn't get them to charge properly again.. we have obviously checked the chargers etc and can't work out what is wrong... we have 2 staves & a set of clubs and they all have the same problem...

...but this isn't really the place to discuss this.. I should email them directly again and see what we can do...

I think moon pixie just wanted to mention that our experience with aerotechs hasn't been so great...

no worries bec, i had the same problem with my swinging clubs a few years back but they sorted mine.

I remember a long time ago discussing this with malcolm too, he has a bunch of aerotech juggling balls that do not work, he said that for overseas repairs they lack they didnt really bother fixing them, or they fixed them and they just broke again and is now left with a few hundred quids worth of nice toys that dont work... gotta suck, its probably the inspiration for malcolms quality and promise that hop's store gives for its products that other such companies lack.

[if im in the wrong for mentioning malcolms name here please mods edit this post, i dont want to do my self or any other wrong by doing such].

I have to admit that aerotechs are not the best of quility, nearly every one i know has at some point had to send their toys back, my clubs had to be totally rebuilt, luckily for me a month before the end of their warrenty.

bec its not a nice feeling to know that having shelled out that kind of money that they just sit in the corner huh. i feel your pain and sorrow. hug

I've always felt there's a lot to be said for using batteries in glow equipment, preferably something easy to get and cheap like AA's.

I loved my aerotech strobe glo-balls, but one day two died at once while being charged frown

It's the rechargable battery or capacitor or whatever in aerotechs that generally seems to fail; whereas with battery operated kit (such as HOP beamers) there's not really that much that can go wrong (though there is the downside that if you mess up with beamers you get battered)
