wave

are you turning into the halo or turning from a halo into something else.

i've been working on these for months and months now. getting there but stills loads to do.

i think there is a few different entrances and exits for what you are talking about.

bit more detail?

right i'll make it uber simple
break halo's into two halfs first half being on the first shoulder you putting the staff on
the second half being where the staff trvels onto the other shoulder and off into your hand

instead of the staff going off you turn into another half of a halo

i just dont understand if i'm exiting it right

ado have you tried the halo entrances from btb also halo's on the front of your neck-finding those fooking hard aswell

yeah, my adams apple is to big for the from of the neck, hurts like hell smile

cant seem to manage that btb entrance either. well i can if i dont try to enter from the opposite shoulder. i can place it on my back though so it spins back towrds the hand that put it there.

if you turn 180 from a halo, into another halo, its goin across your chest. done realy well its a jesus. I'm still stuck on that one.

There is a really good explanation for it in mcp's uber contact thread. i think its done on one of her slack vids too.

the one that is getting me is Halo, turn, Neck Roll, turn, Halo.

I've been moaning about it in my moves thread.

Hey strongs fire

a halo is where the staff goes from one armpit over shoulder, roll across back for 1/2 a beat then comes over the other shoulder, see mcp smile

Ado: id say the halo neck roll halo is the easier one of the two as far as turns go, been trying the jesus for ages and it never works for me!

Damn thing just tooooo hard, still geuss we can get some pointers in a month time! biggrin

Thanks for the help, I should know this stuff...the terms and what not. I've read a read a few of the old postings on terms and names, but I missed a few in the middle.

I reckon the jesus is much easier if you start from a halo rather than entering in the wheel plane from under arm.

What is workng for me is a normal halo start, place the stick well and make sure it has good spin. I tend to start turning almost as soon as i place the stick. Keeping arms up and the staff as close to me as i can.

It just seems to work by itself. I think the turn is the key. Turn right on the spot. One one foot even.

Then you can cock the other one and look like a ballerina. Like me.

ok dude so,

halo across the back are smooth as, but i get confused as on your back the shoulder blades seem to fit the path of the staf perfectly, but across the front im not sure what supposed to go on,

does it travel over your arm and pivot on your chest (without smacking your face, and do you lean back at all to keep it on your chest?

Any help dude would muchly be appreciated as this is a move the ive been stuck on the longest!

Cheers!

But well you should have pecks, and generally when your learning, you can move your arms about to help the staff get to your shoulder again...

I find it easier with my arms kind of up in a v shape. Its a contunious turn also. i.e. no stepping.

Lean back a small bit. head back out of the way.

Try placing the staff behing your back on your opposite shoulder. Like your starting the halo off center on the far side. If you place it there you can control the path a bit easier. Make sure the other arm is up. Just let the staff fall and turn into it. Its wont be a jesus but its the start of it. SO if you place the staff on your left shoulder start turning left so the staff rolls/falls at the same time as your chest turns into it. Just keep turning.

hope this helps. i suck at describing things and this is one of those moves that i find just works.

though mcp nearly tore her hair out trying to tech me it in ed.

in the end. the guys that thought it to me are fear-tine(wheel plane entry)and johnny (halo entry). who've been both been learning contact for a couple of months and 3 Weeks respectively.

Go figure./

Ok so it was midnight and id just got home, all this jesus talk was still on my mind so i had a little play..............

Man i dont know what it was but summit just clicked, i managed halo-jesus and it felt smooth?

Confused by this i tried again from an under arm entry and again it worked! ubbrollsmile

Then i decdided to be really cocky and slowly steped through the motions to try and understand the continuous movement, then............

halo - jesus - halo - jesus - halo - stumble biggrin

At that point i went to bed a happy man smile

Ok this is something new to me dude but ill have a go:

Your spinnig doubles, alternate in wheel plane (staffs coming upwards towards head)

**assuming the left hand will be the contacting staff**

The motion of alternate puts staffs in front behind in front behind, left righ left right etc.

As the staff in the right hand goes behind, the left comes around the front,

At this point lean forward and go into standard neck roll (left hand)

As you turn into the halo you will find that the staff in the right hand need somewhere to go, i find that as you turn give the staff in the right hand a little throw.

If done right, you will catch the thrown staff in the left hand and the other staff will come out of the halo and land in your right hand.

Then you will be in a perfect place to carry on alternate doubles (but they will be going the other way, towards feet)

I hope that is uderstandable dude as descriding is so difficult..

Ive been playing with similar moves but dropping the contacting staff into a halo on the back of the neck and doing a few turns, they feel so great when you pull them off!

Good luck hug
