Posted:top o' the morning wales based poiple! this is the thread for all things wales based, although the crew is mostly based in the land of taff currently with a sizeable offshoot in the land of tawe, please talk about funky things all over cymru in this thread!!

on sunny evenings/days, Roath Park (Rec. or flower garden) you may well find a NOn spinning... it might also not be a NOn, or even a HoP person at all, but if you see someone there spinning, you may as well say hello...
at other unspecified times, there may be other meets, check the most recent posts in this thread for specific details...

Cardiff Games, Duke St Arcade: although not exclusively a juggling shop, they stock some poi, juggling balls and rings, plus occasional other sorts of toys... oh and the guy who owns it does poi too!

Posted:I think you did that all by yourself Mr B! When do you want to play? I'm sure I can drag my sorry old bones to the 'diff sometime to spin and wiggle. I might even drag along a niece or two to play too.
Posted:This weekend Ross talked to me about setting up a regular sunday afternoon meet in Cardiff. I think it would be a fab idea. Anyone else interested. Not sure of a venue so far but Ross suggested the front of the Council buildings by the Fountain if they will let us.
If you are keen say so and I'll poke Ross into sorting it out
Posted:that'd be nice..... although i still won't be able to attend for a while, would this be 'regular' as in even when it's butt freezing cold? also, i'm no longer sure where the council buildings are in cardiff (am sure they move...) so a reminder as to where they are would be useful...

Posted:Yep me and Ross have had a chat and when we are both back in the 'diff we are going to see if we can get much interest in a spin in front of the town hall . . . (the civic centre bit where winter wonderland and big weekend are held).... will post more news and pics as we get the ball rolling . . .
Posted:ah-ha ok, THAT bit, i knows what you mean although methink winter wonderland will already be installed by the time i get back... we can start ice poi!

Posted:that would look cool, zooming around the ice doing fire poi what a great idea non, now all we have to do is learn how to ice skate . . . and do poi
Posted:yeah!! think of all the pretty patterns we can make on the ice! it'd be like a kinetic performance artwork....... :would appreciate a boggly eyed mad scientist graemlin here:

Posted:When you back Non. . . there are more firey friends to play with in cardiff now and the tuesday nights at the hawian, i am sure you would like . . . Rossco is back now as well, so we are definitley going to get the 'diff scene up and running for your arrival back in the cymru . . .
Posted:ahhh, excellent my leetle recruiter of cardiffirey (see what i did there, eh eh? clever, eh?) people, the plan iz all falling into place..... i shall be back sometime around t'end of november.... like the last week or so.....

Posted: well you can always pop over to slovenia! but otherwise i have no plans when i get back to cardiff as yet.... (well except to find a job....) so i am sure there's plenty of time for a wee trip up t'valleys. (and i hope to somehow transport home a bucketload of the finest prekmurjan wine... i just hope easyjet won't mind...)

Posted:So..... Sunday meets? Are we going to do this anytime soon? I've found out we have another new spinner that lives just outside Ammanford. It might be nice to have the meets split between Cardiff and Swansea. Maybe if we set it up to be bi monthly. One week in Swansea and the next meet in Cardiff?
Posted:Yep we could do . . . esp. as we don't seem to have a great deal of people together yet . . . so somewhere the train stations would be good I guess to make everyones travel arrangements easy . . . It is about an hour from Cardiff to Swansea so not too bad . . . . EDITED_BY: Matty B (1125485215)
Posted:Soooooo.... when are we going to start? Next weekend is free for me so far (sunday 11th sept). Anyone else free? Do you want to start in Cardiff or Swansea?
Posted:oh sorry skully, not sure what is going on this weekend . . . Ross is off to the beach I think on sunday . . . I have a tonne of work . . . and the next two weekends have spinning things so maybe we wait until those are over . . . ?
Posted:I'm away most of the rest of september and October with spinny things too. hmmmmm...... We'll have to figure something out after all that is done.
Posted:Welcome to HoP puss_man. Llanelli is not far from Swansea. Soon we hope to set up a meet in Swansea... probably once a month on a sunday. You are more than welcome to come along.
A lot of us are going to the Bristol Juggling Convention which is running from the 17th of Sept to the 24th. Most of us are only going to be able to make the last weekend though. Maybe you could come along and meet up with a whole load of HoPpers. There is a thread about it in the events section.
Posted:Hey guys, I posted on this topic a while ago... quite impressed its still going!
Have you had any meet ups yet. Been a bit out of the poi bug recently as have hit a real brick wall! Have just spent most of my time teaching other people the odd move... I NEED inspiration!!! Please help me... very depressed!
Oh yeah... live in cardiff... Cathays! x EDITED_BY: acidicjenny (1126197166)
Posted:Yes we have had some meets but they were a while back. Most of the summer has been taken up with going to big meets all over the UK and Ireland. We hope to set up more regular meets on Sundays. Keep checking back here for any updates. This coming weekend I'm now a bit busy and for the following 2 weekends I'm away. Click on the link for Infinity Daze in Matts post above yours to see where we will be on the 16-18th sept. The 22-24th sept I'll be at the Bristol Juggling convention. Sunday the 2nd of Oct is free so far....... anyone want to arrange a meet for then?
