Apparently this is an IQ test given to employees in Japan:
"Everybody has to cross the river".

The following rules apply:
- Only 2 persons on the raft at a time
- The father can not stay with any of the daughters without their mother's presence
- The mother can not stay with any of the sons without their father's presence
- The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member if the Policeman is not there
- Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft

To start click on the big blue circle on the right.
To move the people click on them.
To move the raft, click on the red circles.

Have fun trying!!!

i did it, just needs a bit of logical thinking. From it I've concluded:

a) Japanese kids are stupid, they can't even operate a raft which travels 3 metres
b) Japanese police tolerate child abuse and happily stand by whilst it happens

it is the same exact dance that the japanese sailorss aboard the aircraft carriers did as their aircraft were taking off to attack pearl harbor in december 1941 (not joking).

So I just had to tell someone, this thing is going to drive me nuts all day. Right now, I can't even get the right combo to leave one on the other side.

because the theif and the cop have the fewest restrictions, and you need the cop to operate the raft.

why doesn't the theif run away when left alone is what I want to know - seems that would make more sense than a mother punching her sons out.

and I didn't realize child abuse was so prevelant in japan.

I'd like to know why they can't just wade or swim across. It doesn't look that deep or fast to me.

That'd be impressive, although if they could do the same thing with their legs as they're doing with their arms without falling to the floor, they could have just floated across the river smile

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
