Hi all,
I know theres a topic just been posted similar to this one and you were all very vague but..

Me and my partner in life and fire recently moved over to Georgia, USA and have since had some enjoyable charitable fire gigs here but we would like to continue geting some profesional gigs here as we did for so long in Scotland. What we can't figure out though is how much it would be reasonable to charge for a gig in this part of the world. If anyone has any experience of this that they would like to share, we would be very grateful.
We dont want your trade secrets nor do we want to be in competition with any of you, just a starting ballpark idea.
FYI In Scotland we would get 75-100 quid per performer for an hour's corporate or agency booked gig, depending on whether we firebreathed or not. We charged less for clubs/gigs etc depending on who ws running them.

Ahh, the pound I know. I guess that us Americans have some interesting slang too.

We use "bucks" in the States. How about in Australia, NZ, or anywhere else that uses a Dollar? Are they "bucks" there, too?

but we'll all have 2 know euros, which is a lot less than knowing dozens of European currencies.

oanda.com sez Tuesday, August 27, 2002
1 US Dollar = 0.65725 British Pound
1 British Pound (GBP) = 1.52150 US Dollar (USD)

so 75 to 100 quid is US$114 to $152

don't know rates around here yet, how does it compare?

molten cheers,

yeah, we use the word bucks too, but probably not as often. More so in country towns than the city. its all just dollars now i guess. *scene in a country pub, "mate, can i get a tooheys?" "that'll be three bucks thanks mate"....*

I know in canada, the one dollar is called a loony, and the two dollar is called a toony? i always thought that was pretty cute......

Currently on the right side up of the world.

in northern central US states (Minnesotta, . . .) & their neighbors in southern central Canada, the loon is a mascot bird, too.
