You don't have to want to be cremated for this one, just out of interest, if you could pick any place in the world, where would you have your ashes scattered and why?

I'd like mine scattered into the sea at church cove in Cornwall. It's a little national trust-owned beach which I think is actually called Gunwalloe. I just love it there. The church is really pretty and there are some beautiful gravestones, and the sea is perfect for a little swim. I don't know, I just really like it there. I always feel so good when I get to go there. It's a truly beautiful little spot.

What a wonderful miracle if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant.

dig a hole, dump the ashes in, and plant an oak tree on top of them.

I'd get a few of my close surfing buddies to wait for a big hurricane swell, paddle out and say goodbye. I would do the same for them.

I want my girl friends from home to each take a little bit of me, then travel round the world to all the places I haven't been.

That way, they have to go travelling and see the world biggrin

id spilt my ashes up into equal parts

1/3 spread over the ocean
1/3 over the mountains
1/3 in the sky

that way your body is returned to all the elements

I'd like to be buried next to my huzbear, but if we're talking hypothetical, I'd like to scattered evenly over the hills, fields and lake on my grandparents' farm where I grew up. There's just something primal about that place in my psyche and a return to the beginning falls nicely in line with my cyclical turn of mind.

Another option is that I'd like to have a book of my poetry and essays printed and have my ashes mixed into the ink used in the printing. Then the books would go to all of the important people in my life who were still living.

well, i've already booked and paid for my green burial in a designated copse close to where i'm from. i'll be buried in a natural fibre shroud and have a 12 year old oak planted on top of me. can't wait! biggrin

but, IF i were to be cremated then i'd like my ashes scattered from the top of the Sugarloaf mountain in Wicklow. it's a beautiful spot with a 360 degree panorama, you can see the whole of Dublin bay, city & county. on a clear day you can see Wales and the Isle of Man. it's one of my fav meditation/contemplation spots smile

peace

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely smile
