juggle weavesmiley Manchester Spinner’s Meet up and stuff weavesmiley juggle

Hi all If you are looking for people to spin poi with in the North west this is the place to be.

For any one new to this sight DON’T READ THE WHOLE THREAD it has been going a long time and contains lots of old information and chat about previous meet ups and organisation stuff just go to the last few posts to find out the most up-to-date information on current events.

First a bit of info the Manchester spinners lot is no professional spinning troop or organised events it is just a group of people who get together to enjoy themselves. The first meet up was organised way beck in September 04 https://delizium.fotopic.net/c291964.html

The crowd has changed a bit from back then but we have kept a few old timers we welcome all along to come and join us for a spin whether you be experienced or a complete beginner we are willing to teach and learn from you.

Their is no set time for the meet ups they are usually organised around when people can make it and how long they can stay.

I will try to update this first post as often as I can with the most up-to-date info on meet ups and club nights that allow spinning but if I'm being a bit lax just find the last few posts foe up-to-date info (like I said before weren’t you paying attention)

To date the standard meets have gone as meet up in Piccadilly gardens at 4pm (nice central point where every one can get to) Then move on down to the Gas Works/CastleField or Plat fields Park depending on the wether till everyone gets to cold/tired/burned then on to the pub

( anybody who doesn’t know where this is it can be arranged for someone to come meet you at the train station or wherever you are coming from .) smile

{ ubblove We are a nice bunch like that ubblove}

Accommodation for a night can usually be arranged but you need to sort this well in advance no just turning up expecting somewhere to sleep eek

(more to be added and all to be spell checked soon)

pm me any info you would like to add

before i met those lot i thought they'd be a bunch of dreadlocked hippies that smoked, set things on fire ,and drank a lot of tea but then when i met them....oh wait (PyroWill)

And a meal is a good idea, personally I would prefer it not to be on a Sunday for affirmentioned transportation difficulties biggrin

Well, you didn't miss Ro, but we did frown

So you've joined the serried ranks of injured Manc HoPpers? hughug Get better soon and see you at the next meet? Which will be when chaps? Christmas is a-comin'

How about a meal like we did a couple of years ago? It was relatively cheap at that Chinese, £7 I think, and t'was a really nice day - food then fire biggrin How about Saturday or Friday as transport is better and maybe so many people won't be working? Just as thought...

If we start thinking about it now, we might get it together before Easter wink

I second this notion, something on a saturday so we can party into the night, and tyhose lazy bus and train drivers dont ruin or fun at 8 o'clock when we have to dash off

It's my dad's 65th Birfday. So I'm not going to be able to come either (he has one every year. You've had 64 years warning for chrissake wink)

Will there be a meet near the start of December? I'm in London til the 5th then I'm - hopefully - bringing Chelly back up with me for a few days... After that I'm pretty much free.

Meh

Bit short notice for me also, plus doesn't sound like many people can make it.

I can't make the 2nd of December either.

OK, proposal on the table for the 9th of December. Seconded?

Hey!

I'm doing a bit of spinning (no fire as far as I know) for the Kidscan Charity at Heaton Park next Sunday (Dec 2) and wondered if any of you guys would be interested. Thought maybe we could meet there for a change or head to castlfield after?

This is what the organiser said about the event:

"Hi Guys and Girls,

The idea is that you all do your stuff, juggling and so on (make sure its child friendly!) at Heaton Park on Sunday 2nd December between 10:30 and 1pm.
You'll be entertaining all of our Santa Fun Runners and spectators.
It's a great opportunity to show your skills and maybe even get noticed by other companies/charities!

If you'd like any more info, just say the word."

I really hope it doesn't rain frown

Unfortunately not m'love. I've got to head back on the 7th for more lab work. I shouldn't even really be taking the 5th and 6th off, but I haven't managed a single day off in nearly a month. Poor fraggle comes up to see me, and has to spend his entire weekend sitting in a lab waiting for me to finish.... rolleyes

Plus, I'm off out for my birthday lunch with my folks on the 9th, as I think they've all planned christmas nights out on my actual birthday. ubblol

I'll be down for new year though. You coming out to play?

For any of you interested in spinning for the Kidsan Charity Santa Fun-Run on Sunday at Heaton Park (refer to my last post), here's some more info:

"If you could get to the Cafe where the stables are near Heaton Hall by 10am that would be great.
You can look out for me - I'll be wearing a KIDSCAN t-shirt, or any of the other charity reps who will also be wearing their charity t-shirts.
Chris"

It would be a cool thing to do I think, and can be merged with a meet afterwards if people are interested. I think these santa-fun-run things are happening all over the country.

Let me know if you're interested or just see you there on the day.
