juggle weavesmiley Manchester Spinner’s Meet up and stuff weavesmiley juggle

Hi all If you are looking for people to spin poi with in the North west this is the place to be.

For any one new to this sight DON’T READ THE WHOLE THREAD it has been going a long time and contains lots of old information and chat about previous meet ups and organisation stuff just go to the last few posts to find out the most up-to-date information on current events.

First a bit of info the Manchester spinners lot is no professional spinning troop or organised events it is just a group of people who get together to enjoy themselves. The first meet up was organised way beck in September 04 https://delizium.fotopic.net/c291964.html

The crowd has changed a bit from back then but we have kept a few old timers we welcome all along to come and join us for a spin whether you be experienced or a complete beginner we are willing to teach and learn from you.

Their is no set time for the meet ups they are usually organised around when people can make it and how long they can stay.

I will try to update this first post as often as I can with the most up-to-date info on meet ups and club nights that allow spinning but if I'm being a bit lax just find the last few posts foe up-to-date info (like I said before weren’t you paying attention)

To date the standard meets have gone as meet up in Piccadilly gardens at 4pm (nice central point where every one can get to) Then move on down to the Gas Works/CastleField or Plat fields Park depending on the wether till everyone gets to cold/tired/burned then on to the pub

( anybody who doesn’t know where this is it can be arranged for someone to come meet you at the train station or wherever you are coming from .) smile

{ ubblove We are a nice bunch like that ubblove}

Accommodation for a night can usually be arranged but you need to sort this well in advance no just turning up expecting somewhere to sleep eek

(more to be added and all to be spell checked soon)

pm me any info you would like to add

before i met those lot i thought they'd be a bunch of dreadlocked hippies that smoked, set things on fire ,and drank a lot of tea but then when i met them....oh wait (PyroWill)

I have exams at the moment (for the next two weeks) but I'll get on the case with everyone afterwards and we'll sort something out. Seems like Manc Meets v.28(0000) could be back on.

I thought I'd let everyone know about this early so you can make plans...

In May we (Strange Daze) are have invited the residents from Jugglers Ball to join us for a one off residents circus party! It's going to be full of juggly (and probably very beery) goodness to a soundtrack of anything from Ska to DnB @ The Ruby Lounge.
https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=147434341977833

Before that I hope to get everyone together for some outdoor juggly fun.

If you want to join us for some amazing music (jugglers and spinners always more than welcome - we'll be joining in) we have UTAH SAINTS playing on the 5th of March @ the Ruby Lounge
https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=122061601200080
I'm hoping to see some old friends (as well as new ones) join us for one of the biggest acts we've ever put on.

Your best bet is to search facebook for 'Manchester Circus People' and post in that group, its where they all hang out these days

My name is Luke and I've been spinning for about a year, and I have not met a single other person ever that spins.
What says ye?

Hey Zeuya smile

If you're on facebook there's a group there where pretty much every meet in Manchester gets posted: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145656752182239/

I think there's on on Saturday in Castlefield.

The first post of 2014!

If anyone is looking here to meet up with spinners / jugglers / circus people in Manchester here's a few useful links...

Manchester Circus People on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145656752182239/
-A place where all the different groups in Manchester usually post information about gatherings / classes / events and sometimes even performing jobs.
-Join the group and come to one of the gatherings. People of all abilities welcome :-)

Manchester Juggling Convention: https://www.manchesterjugglingconvention.co.uk/
- Annual convention for all circus arts held in Chorlton (South Manchester) that's run by the people that also run the (almost) weekly Quirkus ( https://www.manchesterjugglingconvention.co.uk/quicus
) gatherings.

The Circus House: https://www.thecircushouse.co.uk/
- A big warehouse in Longsight that runs classes on circussy skills including aerial stuff & unicycling. They also have regular spinning / juggling skill swaps, a youth circus and even an indoor parkour area.

Each of the cities 3 universities also have their own circussy communities:

Salford has Fluid: https://www.facebook.com/USSUFluid
or https://www.salfordstudents.com/groups/fluid
- (top of the list because it's the one I go to ;-) )
Manchester has a well established society: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2303637613/
MMU used to have an active society that met in their union club once a week but I've not heard about it for a while. The link to their union is here: https://www.facebook.com/mmunion
or https://www.mmunion.co.uk/

Any MMU students that are interested in joining us in Salford (2 stops on the train from Oxford Road) for our meets should drop me a message. I also have a vague memory of Manchester (over the road) welcoming MMU students but I'd drop them a message to check first.
