juggle weavesmiley Manchester Spinner’s Meet up and stuff weavesmiley juggle

Hi all If you are looking for people to spin poi with in the North west this is the place to be.

For any one new to this sight DON’T READ THE WHOLE THREAD it has been going a long time and contains lots of old information and chat about previous meet ups and organisation stuff just go to the last few posts to find out the most up-to-date information on current events.

First a bit of info the Manchester spinners lot is no professional spinning troop or organised events it is just a group of people who get together to enjoy themselves. The first meet up was organised way beck in September 04 https://delizium.fotopic.net/c291964.html

The crowd has changed a bit from back then but we have kept a few old timers we welcome all along to come and join us for a spin whether you be experienced or a complete beginner we are willing to teach and learn from you.

Their is no set time for the meet ups they are usually organised around when people can make it and how long they can stay.

I will try to update this first post as often as I can with the most up-to-date info on meet ups and club nights that allow spinning but if I'm being a bit lax just find the last few posts foe up-to-date info (like I said before weren’t you paying attention)

To date the standard meets have gone as meet up in Piccadilly gardens at 4pm (nice central point where every one can get to) Then move on down to the Gas Works/CastleField or Plat fields Park depending on the wether till everyone gets to cold/tired/burned then on to the pub

( anybody who doesn’t know where this is it can be arranged for someone to come meet you at the train station or wherever you are coming from .) smile

{ ubblove We are a nice bunch like that ubblove}

Accommodation for a night can usually be arranged but you need to sort this well in advance no just turning up expecting somewhere to sleep eek

(more to be added and all to be spell checked soon)

pm me any info you would like to add

before i met those lot i thought they'd be a bunch of dreadlocked hippies that smoked, set things on fire ,and drank a lot of tea but then when i met them....oh wait (PyroWill)

Anyone fancy a mini meet this Sunday?

With Tony the juggler and good old Mike/Loki back in town it'd be a good way to reintroduce the old gang and with the freshers here a good chance for some new blood.

Whaddya reckon? This Sunday or shall we wait till Manchester Juggling Convention next Saturday?

3. Female Children's Entertainer Wanted!
Posted by: "celebratefestival2007" celebratefestival2007@yahoo.co.uk celebratefestival2007
Date: Thu Sep 25, 2008 9:34 am ((PDT))

Short notice but - If anyone is - or can give me contact details of - a
female children's entertainer - clown/juggler/puppeteer etc., I would
be truly grateful!! (person booked can't make it) It's for this coming
Monday - 29th September...........
There is a budget of £120 (& free food!) for 2 hours; the event is
between 7.30-11pm so 7.30-9.30 would probably be the best time slot.
The kids will be under 12's - and last year's community Chand Raat -
which was our first - was a really brilliant success!
It's going to be held in Whalley Range - if anyone can help out please
contact Chris on 881 3744

see you folks soon!

Where will you be travelling through? To be fair, I could drive again but that would be very environmentally unfriendly (plus I will need to stay sober again).

Hi all,

I'm Warren. I'm the organiser of GOT?POI, www.gotpoi.co.uk. I'm also Joey's brother.
GOT?POI first workshop is on Wednesday 15th Oct 2008. The first workshop is FREE! Please try to come along. I just wanted to let everyone know about GOT?POI...

Mission statement: GOT?POI aims to promote and teach skilled arts around Merseyside. We aim to provide social networking, where skilled artists and novices can learn from each other and further their abilities. Music and refreshments are included in each workshop.

We have attracted the attention of the Manchester spinners, and some companies that teach circus skills around the UK.

Where and when?
6-9pm Wednesdays
Muse Building
82-84 Duke Street
Liverpool City Centre
L1 5AA

What activities are available?
We hope...
Poi
Bocks
Staff
Devil Sticks
Juggling
Unicycling
Tight rope
...and possibly more.

Why do I have to pay?
We have overheads to pay such as rent and equipment.

After reading feedback from this forum, and from others - all expressing concern about the £25.00 (for 10 workshops) charge, I have decided to give members a choice how they pay, either £25 block payment OR £3.00 per workshop.

Advantages:
Beginners / intermediates members – get good quality, structured lessons from 82p/hr.
Advanced members - can use the building and meet other members in a secure area (it's difficult to spin outside in the rain.)
Instructors – get paid fairly. This scheme enables instructors to get paid for each person they spend time teaching.

All the latest information is on our site, www.gotpoi.co.uk under the workshops section. Have a question? E-mail me: info@gotpoi.co.uk.
