juggle weavesmiley Manchester Spinner’s Meet up and stuff weavesmiley juggle

Hi all If you are looking for people to spin poi with in the North west this is the place to be.

For any one new to this sight DON’T READ THE WHOLE THREAD it has been going a long time and contains lots of old information and chat about previous meet ups and organisation stuff just go to the last few posts to find out the most up-to-date information on current events.

First a bit of info the Manchester spinners lot is no professional spinning troop or organised events it is just a group of people who get together to enjoy themselves. The first meet up was organised way beck in September 04 https://delizium.fotopic.net/c291964.html

The crowd has changed a bit from back then but we have kept a few old timers we welcome all along to come and join us for a spin whether you be experienced or a complete beginner we are willing to teach and learn from you.

Their is no set time for the meet ups they are usually organised around when people can make it and how long they can stay.

I will try to update this first post as often as I can with the most up-to-date info on meet ups and club nights that allow spinning but if I'm being a bit lax just find the last few posts foe up-to-date info (like I said before weren’t you paying attention)

To date the standard meets have gone as meet up in Piccadilly gardens at 4pm (nice central point where every one can get to) Then move on down to the Gas Works/CastleField or Plat fields Park depending on the wether till everyone gets to cold/tired/burned then on to the pub

( anybody who doesn’t know where this is it can be arranged for someone to come meet you at the train station or wherever you are coming from .) smile

{ ubblove We are a nice bunch like that ubblove}

Accommodation for a night can usually be arranged but you need to sort this well in advance no just turning up expecting somewhere to sleep eek

(more to be added and all to be spell checked soon)

pm me any info you would like to add

before i met those lot i thought they'd be a bunch of dreadlocked hippies that smoked, set things on fire ,and drank a lot of tea but then when i met them....oh wait (PyroWill)

Thanks for all the luck guys!

But due to slightly unforseen circumstances I can't make it tomorrow now, I rang them up and they said they can arrange for me to come anytime though, so I'll be sorting it out later on.

You've had the operations? The one to make your arms 4" longer and the one to remove a vertebra or two for the extra spinal flexibility? No?? Then I'm afraid you've had it...
wink

Personally speaking, I found the reverse weave much less of a
head censored to sort out behind the back - and the reverse seemed to work without battering myself quite so often at first too - so maybe give that a go? (But.. I am a club swinger so I could be spouting nonsense when it comes to poi spinning...)

A wise man once said: "You have two ears and one mouth, therefore you should shut the censored up and listen" (though, to be fair, he might not've put it _quite_ like that..)

Ok, I will be doing a meet and greet in Picadilly Gadens outside Cafe Nero from about 3pm. Will hang around for about 30 mins or so then head down to the Gasworks.

Anyone that wants to meet is more than welcome to.
And don't worry about recognising me, you will know me when you see me wink

I'm hoping to come down to one of the sessions very soon. I bumped into a couple of firetwirlers last night at the gas works who showed me a few things and got me interested. Hopefully I'll have some time in July to come along and find out more about it all smile See you soon!

The Ol Bill turn up? Hope they were pleasant public servants?!
Well just returned from Glasters - which was...... well I think you heard. VERY busy for me with 2 Fire Shows and a 2 hr compeering slot each day. What with Jet Lag, Ticket and Sceduling probs and so much work - didnt really have a great Glasters but its ALWAYS good!!
Dave was nice to see you on Sunday - thanks for coming down and supporting - shame we werent on as scheduled which was warm up for Bill Bailey - now that would have ROCKED a full field heh!
Anyway - now thinking of PLAY and a chance to actually hang-out with people!!! There shall be at least 2 of SOLAR there and I am driving up from Glade. One of SOLAR shall be flying from Austria, but theres no flights to Bristol, so it maybe Manchester. I am wondering when people are driving over and wether the may be room for a littl-un. She wont have loads of kit as she's flying, and could fly out on any day thats convienient for you guys.
Hate to throw another member of SOLAR on the mercy of the Manchester massive - but you were SSSOOOooooo Luuurvely last time (Thanks again) and im sure there will be some spinning and Hula Hooping tips in return (she's way technically good at Poi)
Give us a PM if you can help out and i'll pass on your email to her
Thanks lovelies - enjoy the Summer and see you soon

It was the pretend ones - "community support officers" - and mostly they just hung around pointlessly waiting for us to forget they were there and do something naughty, I think.. One of them found a rolly butt and picked it up to sniff it in the hope of finding something to complain about, but got the wrong roach...
..And they didn't even do a "can I have a go?", which might've endeared them to us a little more, they just existed to dampen spirits with their presence..

FireNix - they were only community ocifers but were somewhat interested in the strong cigarette they spotted whilst on the pavement so came down and literally just hung about, saying nothing for about 15,20 minutes. A tad unnerving and def a conversation killer ubblol umm But all was cool - just shrug
Be good to catch up at play - t'will be so good for so many reasons - R&R for the body & soul peace

PMing you re: unnamed SOLAR member transport arrangements smile

Mill - lost your num when phone was nicked last year (yes it's been THAT long!! spank ) so PMing you mine - you better use it! hug

Hey guys, Glad you had fun despite (or because of) the absence of those at Glasto! tongue

Spoke to Roman and he said that he can never make a Sunday meet. Since the next one isn't set in stone would anyone fancy a Saturday meet to that we can accommodate our favourite (or only) Trippy Hippy before PLAY? That'd be the 14th or 21st...

which is pretty close this year (as opposed to being in Cardiff like before), so anyone wanting to make big banging noises should be there..
