Theory: Attaching Handles to your staff bounce bounce2

- Roughly 10 cm away from the center works fine for the beginning, move closer to the center the more confident you get. The offcenter is necessary in order to give momentum to the staff (mini isolations)
- Swivels are essential
- It would be nice to have a "once around the staff swivel" too

I was experimenting with swivels and meteors already but somehow never got around to attach them to staffs. Its nice to play around with these and astonishing speeds become possible (Remember: More speed More pain ubblol)
Doublestaff becomes quite interesting for Poi Spinners if you use Handles.
Due to the fact that the handles are off center one can use the staff the normal way (handles are not in the way) and just grap/let go the handles whenever wanted.

Any experiences/suggestions/ideas about it ?!?

cool idea andy! how hard is it to control the speed? Is it easy to reduce the further off centre the handle is?

Let's relight this forum ubblove

I've tried handles and swivels in two and three foot flails, (very short staff), have been thinking about adaption to longer staff, speed control is 'challenging', and fairly hard on the wrists, I tend to use centre location for attachment, you have something that behave's somewhere between poi, staff and nunchucks

in some way's from what you describe them they'd end but as a pair of tonfers (not sure on the spelling) which is sorta like a really big night-stick. quite a few of the moves are poi-based, but there's also some mad nunchuck style moves where you just bounce them off your body really quickly so it all become a blur.

We are the music makers, We are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams;
We are the movers and shakers of the world for ever, it seems.

Sounds like a cross between Tonfas and Nunchucks from what I'm understanding...
Do you have a picture of them somewhere to give a better idea?

The Spinach Sessions had apart where someone managed to grab a poi on the end of their staff and swung it around a bit, but that's not the same thing as this I think...as far as I can make it out this has a swivel and handle in the middle area...
