hummm, new for me be, stck-stick foward fishtails, double fowards fishtail working (still shakey) angel rolls and lots of continious contacty stuff that im not sure how works.

oh and matrix but instead of a spin on the throat side, you let it slip, lean back lottttssss and spin on your stomach

Ha-hey, I just did a SNES. A pretty unattractive SNES, but definitely very SNES-like. And managed to tidy up those halo rolls.

But I've having major problems nailing the half-steve. Anyone have any tips? Mostly what happens is the stick rolls down my arm and sort of diagonally wraps my shoulder blades rather than my neck then falls off. I have a feeling that I'm lowering my shoulder too much but do any of the staff senseis here have any tips?? For a start, when it first rolls down your arm is it meant to be centred all the way, or off-centre a bit?

All help muchly appreciated.

Ed

start if off center, so that it contacts the arm centered, then keep the shoulders level, and it should wrap, then drop wecond shoulder, and let it roll down the arm, if possibly centered as well smile

how you entering your snes, opposite arm to shoulder, or same side?

Cheers, mate! We'll see if that works. If you keep it centred all the way down, does it eventually reach your neck off-centre so it can wrap properly?

SNES - opposite arm to shoulder - when I tried the same side, the staff tended to roll away from the neck before I could turn in time.

Regarding the SNES: Thank God for a really padded beanie. Heh.

i havent looked at it, to see if it does reach the neck off center, but i guess it is.

ooo now try the snes leaning in strange places, and you might start matrixing.
same side is tres difficult, but it works after a while.

Ben i completly agree with the over practicing thing, i spent all of yesterday spinning with fluff trying to get dual fishtails and the closest i got was 2 beats, pesky critters!
now ive got RSI in my right wrist and it hurts like hell frown
Also spent a lot of time on the behind the neck matrix (trying to get into a SNES) but didnt get too far, come back to that one me thinks wink
Did however get the neck wrap matrix down pretty well (about 60% of the time now) where you do the first half of the matrix, do a neck wrap (or propeller whatever you wanna call it) then the second half of matrix. WOOO.

Richee by BTB fishtails do you mean fishtailing behind the back or fishtail passing from one hand to the other behind the back? ive been working one the second one for a while and was wondering what you had found. confused

Do you understand the matrix?

if so - doing it with doubles involes the non matrixing stick pass across your back (hand to hand) whilst the other does the matrix - its hard as feck smile

As much as i hate to say it - go download nates staff video and wait for the very end - he just happend to catch it on tape - because pulling it off consistantly is dam hard cool

was playing about with waistwrap fishtails at the weekend think they fall into the completly useless but quite fun catorgory umm

pfsh double matrix is about the hardest move anyones bothered to name think there's a full thread devolted to them but the basic idea is do a matix with one staff and keeping the other staff spinning in some manner (normally horzontal pinwheel)

Maybe I should change this too something abit nicer, humm no I still think your all Ccensoredt
