Thats like saying... whats better: jam or peanut butter?

They are completly differnet so you cant compare them.

But the answer you are looking for is that Poi is harder.

poi is definetly harder than staff, it hink poi looks more impressive if thats what your trying to accomplish at the same time, but in the end dont chose one cos its easier or harder, chose whichever one feels right, but only babies juggle so dont do that

An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind

Im a baby..8oO but hey I do poi and staff and contact juggling and all..

AND to your problem... poi is harder than normal staffing... but contact staffing is harder than poi... so.. best thing is to choose both

yea i think normal staffing is easier than poi, but im not sure about the contact staffing..

my biggest problem with poi is that i cant move my hands/arms independently.. stalls and wraps and things like that are very difficult for me. not that im a master at contact staff or anything, but i think its easier to train yourself to learn that than stalls and isolations with poi.

but for all the babys, of which i am one, the same goes for juggling.. you have to be able to move your hands independently of one another in order to get some realy nice tricks to work..

but yes, i agree with White RaveN, its best to chose both cuz both have their charms

I believe that all toys have there own charm and you can't place one above another by how difficult they are. Personally I started with poi because I found them easier and I felt they were for me. I've only picked up staff in the last few years and it wasn't much different than learning poi. Same as my other toys it all takes practice, patience and enthusiasm. You just have to get into it and try and you will find the right toy/s for you.

ps
as far as juggling is for babies. I can do some pretty tricky stuff with lops of different toys but I still can't juggle.

Majik is right. Each individual toy has its own pros and cons enabling them to do different tricks of various styles. Poi is harder than staff AT FIRST simply because a staff wont go limp and hit you in the head. this is rather a shallow topic as for most people, if you are commited then nothing is difficult with time.

Juggling is not for babies, you're just jealous cause we can do your staff and poi but you cant do our clubs, so nahhh!

I think it depends on the individuals learning capacity in certain areas too...I find learning staff impossible but poi is easy....

Whereas a lot of my friends find poi impossible but staff a totally doable thing to learn.

poi? difficult? my 12 year old figured poi out in an afternoon! without a teacher! staff, however, he gets his bumps and knocks like they're going out of style...(no, he's not doing either lit... yet) i have been at staff for 20 years now, first as a weapon, then fire performance. to put a staff user next to poi, poi impresses more people, unless you are as knowledgeable in staff moves as i am. it usually comes out to a tie or narrow -margin lead for me when people compare the two. suffice to say, it's more the moves you choose to learn that makes one or the other harder. it's like (to quote my girlfriend) asking, " which is harder, Karate or Jujutsu?" two completely different styles...chain vs. rigid, striking vs. grappling. see where i'm going with this?

... juggling is also much, much harder than poi, IMO.

I know better than to spin staff indoors.
I do not know better than to poi indoors whilst talking on the phone.

Poi break more objects. Therefore poi are harder tongue

i am more presumptuous and therefore i would compare staff and poi:

one stick is harder than one poi.
two sticks are harder than two poi.
ergo: stick is harder.

juggling is something completely different cos you need three things to even discuss it, and as such it does not fit into the comparison scheme used above.
