We have beautiful summer weather at the moment (all be it British Summer so a fair ammount of rain) and I have found myself on several occasions lately wishing that it was winter so that it would be dark earlier.

Is it just me or is the addiction to fire really that strong that it could make us this dellusional (sp?)

The force is strong in you

Seriously though I think you mighta stepped off your rocker there...winter is cold-at least here in Canada-but then again the fire would keep me warm and I wouldn't have to sit here and wait for another five hours to lite up...okay so maybe you're not so crazy after all

OM Shanti

aw man ya shouldn't think that any part of your life is wasted, even if in eagerness to twirl! you may regret it in your old age when you will wish to have past time instead of killing it. If ya cherish every second of life, you won't be ever sad for 'wasting' it.
Sorry for imposing this perspective, but I've been reflecting on reaching the end of the first quarter of my life, and the quote:

Dark is good for fire, but light is good for practice...

Summer is good for warmth, and warmth maketh flames bigger.

Winter is good for dark, but cold makes the flames smaller and harder to light.

Summer has less rain, which means you can light up more often outside than in winter.

etc etc etc

*opens up freezer* hell it would be hard enough swinging a cat in here let alone my wire wool cages

seriously though I am glad I am not the only one crazy enough to be longing for the nights to draw in, as for the cold perspective, yes it did get a little cold last winter but I was just beginning and needed the fire practice

I spin fire in the twilight. It's kinda fun. It soon goes dark (possibly cos you lose all track of time whilst you're spinning). It's good to go out about nowish as well. you can surprise the milkman too

What are you saying!!!

winter is yuck! at leased here..
in the summer i dont have to wear many clothes..
in winter i do..

therefore summer is better.
sometimes it gets so cold in winter that spinning doesnt warm you up. i hate having to run for my coat after.. i also like to spin bare foot.

i like the longer days that way its still light enough when we all meet up we can swap tricks/fix wicks/etc before we spin.

well at weekends I work in a nightclub at the moment and it has only just passed the stage where it is light when I go to work and when I finish

It is a pity that the girls have to wrap up a little warmer but they are still there fun cuddly selves when got back to a nice log cabin with an open fire

People are more attractive in the winter months. Biologically. Our bodies release pheromones in the cold season so we can better atrtract a warm and snuggly someone to keep us warm when we're nesting.

People are more attractive in the summer. In the winter they're all pale and pasty. If Sorcha's wearing less in the summer, then long live summer! I could do with a bit more sunshine in my summer tho. Weather wise the UK sucks big time.

I agree with dom here the best thing about the summer is definately little short skirts and sleeveless tops (or maybe bikinis).

Where do all these nice girls hide in the Winter - behind big baggy jumpers and overcoats

Good thing about winter? At least you know you'll have to wear a jumper everyday. At the moment you never know how cold it's going to be in 2 hours time. Another good thing, when it's winter here, it'll be summer in Australia. Quite good if you're planning a holiday down under
