Hi
I'm fairly new too the fire arts and I was just wondering if there were any regular meets in Melbourne.
The reason I am asking is that I am currently studying at swinburne and have to do an essay and presentation on a subculture. For this I need some footage,images and quotes of fire artists. (Either poi or staff).
I was also wondering whether the majority of fire spinners minded being filmed or photographed.

we are twirling staff, poi and 'other' tonight @ flagstaff gardens
then firetwirling will be had at an outdoor psytrance party (weather will be aight) underneath the westgate.
Melways ref. 42 C12.
(Park at the end of Lorimer St and go down the path to the doof.
Starts 9ish DJ'S inc. Sgt Dan, Misslida, Alias, DJB, Hugo, Miss Renee, Logos (live) and Avidd + a few more)
i wouldn't mind gatting a copy of footage in exchange for fwirling fer yas...

Thanks for that though I unfortunately had to work.
I actually heard from some friends that there might be something on in the Fitzroy gardens each week. I was just wondering if anyone had any more details about this. Such as nights and times.

I'm not sure, i'm still at school, so i dont have much of a chance to go down to acland during the weeknights..wait... i didnt check what day u posted that response.. so it may have been on the weekend but anyway, my answer is..

i recon more people will, start going out there when then weather is better. i havnt seen any for about 5 months.

Arsn + Stevil are keen to go wed - Olga/Airsick is considering. Phuzz Wuzzie will finally show himeself on wednesday hey?! More details as they come will be posted at the Events n Gatherings edinburgh twirling thread

I dunno if they still do it but the most recent meets I know of were across from the expo centre in the gardens in good weather and crappy weather under the bridge there. Sunday nights.
