Accomodation: Tregedna Farm Campsite (the other one for those of you who attended Falmouth 1 or 2)

Duration: Thursday evening - Sunday evening

Attractions: A beautiful beach, (hopefully) glorious weather, a big feckin fire, more beer and smoke than you can shake several large sticks at, and a bunch of lunatics playing with fire.

Throw in a few workshops, the obligatory 8 mile hike, and yer talkin' heaven.

For those who have not attended a Falmouth event before, there are videos of the last two here and here.

This may well be the only Falmouth event this year, as us Cornish types will all be going to the Play Festival in August - and recommend that you do too!

Yep, I'm booking a place in the ubertent too.

How many can it hold comfortably? I'm thinking that we might as well stay in luxury (relative to a normal tent at least) and have lots of room smile

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

it's all fine and good for folkes actually in the UK to say "we have two months so chill out"

but if you are spending a fair amount to fly to england, as a few of us are, and also schedualing to use precious vacation time off of work - two months is very slim notice indeed!

If you live in the UK and this gets cancelled a week before hand due to the fact that the neccisary things didn't get sorted, then it is no big deal and you can go do you normal easter thing with your family. A few of us will be stuck with worthless airline tickets and wasted vacation days though.

and I bet if we wait 2 more weeks, we are going to find non-campsite accomodations don't have enough room for all of us, so then if we eventually discover the campsites won't open just for, then things are in real mayhem.

And all this leaves me wondering if I should book a hostel or B&B now, or if that will just be more wasted money when the whole thing gets cancelled for lack of proper planning.

I think all we need is a definite answer from Mags over how many people this campsite/caravan park can hold and the prices, which he is sorting. If they have a barn which can hold 24 and say 10 eight berth caravans, then that should hold us plus any room for tents. That is if they are willing to do it. I think for the campsite it's revenue they weren't expecting so i should think they'd be quite willing to hold us all.

From previous experience it seems that most of the B&B's plus hostels are willing to take your name as a possible and as long as you ring back fairly promptly they are quite happy to sort of reserve you a room. At least previous experience has shown. So, if you do have real resevations - ring someone like www.falmouthbackpackers.com and say to the woman (Charlotte's her name) that you are waiting to hear back from the campsite but you're unsure of the answer so can i place a temporary booking with her and if it falls through then you still have somewhere to stay.

I know that a lot of people seem quite anxious to know what's going on but as we've found out - without actually living in Falmouth it's quite difficult to sort as BT 1571 seems to be in control.....

Mags is on the ball and is a total star - he knows what's happening and is trying his best to sort out. If i was in Mags place i would be pretty stressed out. He's trying to sort out 60+ people with somewhere to stay and getting moaned at in the process.

I do think that if the campsite agree to us being there we should be sorted but if not there are a number of resonably priced B&B's and hostels we can look at as mentioned.

If anyone is desparate and wants details of falmouth B&B's and hostels i have a list from Falmouth Tourist Board from the last time i went and will be happy to forward onto if you PM me and give me an e-mail address.

oh, and vanize, you can always come and stay in Bristol!! smile
