woo, hoo! back on topic (I see what flas was onnabout now!)

ok, I havent broken all that much with poi, not really many lightbulbs either. Ive thrown acrylics through a few wine glasses and broke a solid wooden table with an 85, oh and a remote controle, but the biggest breakages for me are other peaples poi

see Im well rough with poi, and my settup is always very rugged but let me see....

two pairs of tennis poi when learning.

Kicked the head off some fire poi, repaird them, then kicked the handles off.

2 pair of electroglow poi.

That guy at synergy in all the black leather, i took the head off doing fast wraps.

Morphs fire poi. and maybe flids, im not shure.

some girl in italily who had nice glowstick holders, I creamed them (why do you need a holder for glowsticks? they got holes in the top already!)

some guys 'experimental' glowstaff

a couple of pairs of other peaples sock poi. (good!)

oh and i once broke my own staff into three bits, but it wasnt really about spinning.

My own poi are nearly broken from a year of soild use, but they are hanging on by a thread.

so, if you want to test how rugged your new poi design, give them to me!

T wave

p.s. I also managed to break 3 clubs in 4 months

eek well i think you win 1st prize for most breakages! ubblol

but would you mind telling me..... how do break sockpoi?

i threw a pair away a few weeks ago coz they were so old and dirty and threadbare, they really couldn't be seen in public any more, but they were far from broken.....

peace

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely smile

That's why I make my own stuff. If or when it breaks, I have nobody to be mad at except myself.

Then, you can rebuild them.
You have the technology.
You have the capability to build the world's first bionic poi.
You can make them better than they were before.
Better... Stronger... Faster...

or you can completely cack it up... (if you're me that is)

but i see your point, other people can equally cack it up.

and bionic poi sounds good, i could make retractable ones that i store in my forearm when not in use! ubbidea

Greetings from the new guy.

I've broken the standard light bulbs, lampshades etc.

But I recently gave my boss's wife a black eye with practice poi, and then dropped my acryllic C-Juggling ball (being used to cheer her up) and broke her toe.

Dogbox for me!!!

I broke all three lights in the living room, so we bought one that's almost flat on the ceiling. Day before yesterday I broke that too rolleyes So I had to spend another £30 buying a replacement...grrr...

Also, various cups and glasses, a candle holders, an ornamental ganja leaf, and I've hit George or more times than I could count but I don't think I actually 'broke' her, well not in that way wink

the downstairs in my house has no more light shades and a lot of the time no light bulbs either! Someone needs to develop poi proof bulbs!

i also broke my glasses, lots of crockery, ash trays, my very expensive led poi, ooh and my parrots peace of mind! ( he squarks continuously whilst i'm doing poi, maybe he saw what happened to the lampshade!)

It felt like i broke my shoulder when i decided to learn the btb weave! could hardly move my arms for days after.

i just had the scariest lightbulb/poi incident!!

i was happily spinning away in my living room (i know...don't spin indoors but you all do it too i bet!!) and i hit the lightbulb out of the socket..it looked fine so i popped it back in and it worked...i was thinking yeay don't have to go to the shop and buy yet more lightbulbs..anyway about ten minutes later the lightbulb exploded and missed my eye by about an inch even though it had been working fine ooooops......and so i conclude..... don't put lightbulbs back in if they have been hit by anything because it could all end in tears..and a lot of pain!!

i know a lot of people would say that i shouldn't have put it back in the first place but i'm sure I'm not the only one silly enough to do it and i don't want it to happen to anyone else!
