A low wave is another name for a low reel i.e. each hand doing a figure of 8 between front and back wall planes. Different from a weave smile

Does seem a bit odd... although if you look it is sort of the same move but whereas the Mexican Wave is done horizontally this is done in front and behind you. It's not a great description though.

Oh, and you can do the low wave with the poi going in the same direction as well. In fact, it's quite an important one to learn smile

is a low-wave with both poi going in the same direction a hip-reel? and is it also called low-wave in that case?
it´s not the problem i want to learn them, I want to teach them, but in frankfurt I´m the only one who is interested in names...

Ive always called opposing directions gong in front and behind you (IE, butterfly reels) waves.. High and low waves respectively. Ive always called them in chase, reels (as it looks like youre reeling a giant fishing rod)... Again, high and low reels respectively. Weaves are any move where your arms 'weave' under and over each other.

It always bothered me to hear someone say "Mexiican wave" cuz I mean, wtf is mexican about it?

That reel is south of the border, sexually speaking, right? wink

It's US-centric, I know, but is the only explanation I can think of.

Actually, the mexican wave is the high wave/shoulder butterfly reel so it doesnt even make sense that way.

really? I always called that the 'high mexican wave'. I like my reasoning better. lets petition to change the name. wink

if any high mexicans complain, we can tell them the 'south of the border' joke and it'll all be okay. they'll think anything is funny!

i´m sorry, someone has to explain me the meaning of the word reel, that i can understand the south of boarder joke...
is it also a reel if i play it in split time, or do i have to call it a mill?

I use the term reel to mean any of this sort of move - there are low reels and high reels, same direction and opposite direction, and same and split time. They're all just different types of reels smile
