My ex boyfriend loved capoeira and I loved juggling. How about capoeira and juggling together?

a friend of ours dances capoeira around us when we are spinning.

bit scary at times, when you turn around with a flaming staff and you see a flash of someone doing a cartwheel past your face. I'm learing the trick is not to stop and to trust that he knows where he is going and where i am going. Theres lovely communication in dancing like this.

i've been trying to get him to pick up fire too. so far he's much more into spinning around on his head and jumping five feet into the air though. Very impressive nonetheless.

would love to see some bluecat stylee capojuggling smile

this is totally unrelated..... but..... then again maybe not...

i was practising tai chi last nite with my double staff and it was indeed lovely

i can't really do doubles yet, only started a few days ago, but trying to apply tai chi moves & postures helped enormously with the flow & timing

Well it has the same sort of flow for me. Mind you, I'm just a beginner at both.

in benders joy to staff video he does a little capoeira with double staff.. spinning, then doing an au si mao(dont care about the spelling, but its a cartwheel without hands) looks sweet, but damn difficult.. icant even do it without staves..

there is a capo dance (the maculele) that involves sticks symbolising the machetes used in the sugar plantations when capoeristas were slaves.

i don't train no more (i hurt myself real bad and can't train until late september 2005) and have a beer gut to show for it smile

actually the maculele involves knives as well when done properly, but since its a bit dangerous, sticks are more often used.. but what the hell, its all the same biggrin
