We all know once you start twirling, it's hard to stop :P
I grabed a pair of my friend's mittens the other day and broke into 3 beat weave (tried for 5 but they were to short and had no weight) then into a butterfly.
I realized I do this a fair bit when ever I get items in my hands. I've done it with articles of clothing, shopping bags full of food and all sorts of strange items :P
I wanted to know how many other people twirl what ever they can get their hands on.
I know in the Martial Arts world, everything becomes staff or a sword wink
I think in the twirling world, everything becoms twirlable.

I definitely believe the jacket thing. At Woodford, the guy from Gadgets was juggling 3 balls while removing his jacket. He then weaved the jacket through the balls, poi-style. Incredible. I wish I had that whole performance on video.

I can't tell you how many times I've been bitched at for screwing up the groceries spinning them around me in the plastic bags. I swear not all of that damage was mine. ooooops

But I am glad to hear that my compulsive nature is not uncommon among Hoppers.

I tried twirling a friend's unlit cigarette the other night at Juggle. Heh. Figured there were better uses for it than smoking it.

Which reminds me...I am an actor/singer and we put condoms on our mic packs to keep the sweat out.I have spun those aswell.I would put stage make up in it and spin it.

It can be done! Kyle contact-staffed me. But it came so out of the blue, when I realized what he was doing, I couldn't stop laughing...and as far as I know his 'real' contact staffs don't start convulsing halfway up hehe

Ive done video cables with a VDA (distro amp) on the end, worked really well till the cable came apart

Riding crops work well sort of, with a bit of practice. you can also do throws with one quite easily.

Various stuffed toys (I've got 4year old twin girls) keeps them very amused.

Garden hose while it was on, kinda hard to control and only 1 but heaps of fun in summer

was twirling the african spear in my room again yesterday... great incentive to not hit yourself when the risk is stabbing yourself in the back of the leg with a spearhead
