This is really just to guage a reaction.

We (the Falmouth Fire Fellowship wink) were talking the other day about having a big fire party a couple of weeks before Christmas. Brad has an excess of wood in his shop that needs burning, and that's an excuse to have a party. smile

We're thinking probably the weekend of Friday 9th Dec - Sunday 11th Dec. What do people think? Anyone fancy a trek to Cornwall to spin in the cold? We can guarantee lots of paraffin, lots of fresh herbs, and lots of tasty ale. biggrin

Hm. I have a horrible feeling I've got an exam on the monday. If not, and if there's room for a little one, I'd like to finally meet some spinners from this end of the world (Apart from Beth, although she may not remember me)

I'll most likely be up for braving the cold and venturing down for a weekend of spinning. It depends what's happening on the job front by then though.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

You people are crazy. It'll be might cold.

Many factors will determine my arrival, the main one being that I can't plan anything that is more than 2 days away. So I'll have to see nearer the time...

Ok, as far as the weather goes, the averages for December in Falmouth (one of the warmest places in Cornwall) are: Minimum temperature - 5.1c Maximum temperature - 9.9c

So, yeah, cold, but not freezing. Compared to February, it's positively boiling. Plus, should be nice and sunny.

I think "brisk" is the word I'd use. biggrin

Would you guys like me to investigate B&B's? biggrin

those lines are dashes are they, not minuses? dashes are ok, minuses are not.... but B&Bs could work, for this weekend we were looking at prices and you'd have to expect to pay about £25 a night.... but for less than that price you can stay in CAMELOT!! I don't know if there are any knights or a round table, but i expect i shall find out next weekend when i am there...

Mags> i don't know where i will be on Sat night as I will be under the command of the birthday one, but I will damn well bring my fire poi just in case biggrin

I'm also up for a bit of poi in Falmouth...

Don't mind camping, so long as sufficiently numbed against the cold. I'm most definitely a beginner, but trying to learn a bit. Guess I'll have to practice for the 10th!

Yes, yes, they're dashes, not minuses. And believe me, ten degrees is pretty warm for December. You'll all love it.

I'm off into town in a bit, i'll have a look at some B&B info for you all.

Capt Haz>> I know man, I met you at the first one, saw you briefly at the second. This time I'll actually try and sit still long enough to get yer number. wink

Do we feel a beach event, or an inland event is more suitable?
