Haha, yes there are. I'm from Halifax, but not there (obviously). There is a little teeny poi community, but they're SO hard to get together soemtimes, and stuff.

How's spinning in Sackville?

I'm possibly going to be in Fonthill, Ontario, over the Canadian summer. Any fire troupes or gatherings near there?

Fonthill's in the Niagra region, about an hour or so outside of Toronto. So I'm told.

During the warmer months there will probably be once a week at Trinity Bellwoods park here in Toronto. Usually a Thursday night. And in the summer there's usually something happening at one of the beaches.
Check out the toronto tribe at the link above.
Cheers!

I am always in Calgary and am frequently bored. Human contact would be much obliged.

Is it hot in here, or was I just engulfed in flames?

I'll probably be in Toronto in late June. Thanks for the link Badger, once I make my plans I'll hit up that link for some poi people.

Hello hello Toronto kiddies, Im from england, and am in Toronto for another 3 months, till the end of April. I have been here a month and havent yet spotted many spinners out here...not as big as it is in England I guess. ANyway, could someone advise the poor little tourist (me) where Trinity Bells park thing is, where you guys meet for a spin. Do you guys spin at the mo. Its not that cold outside, so dont chicken out! the fire will warm ya anyway. So blurgh, someone tell me where its all happening... Pixie

Yeah, the high of 4 C today, or -3 C tomorrow. Not that cold! rolleyes
So what's the high in England at this time of year? We consider this very mild weather. Were you out spinning a couple of weeks ago when the wind-chill was -30 C ? tongue

I did that and lost feeling in my hands past my wrists, not helpful when you need max mobility in the wrist an fingers. So there were no gloves for me.

Fun, all in all.

Yeah, you would think the fire would warm the hands, but, it won't. You would think the alcohol would kill the germs, it doesn't.

Is it hot in here, or was I just engulfed in flames?

Hey there, got bored in class so I was surfing the boards ^.^'
In response to the anyone in the Toronto area question? I live just outside of Toronto in a small town called Georgetown. It's right beside Milton and Acton if those names ring a bell. I'm about 20-30 mins outside of Toronto (Depending on traffic on the 401 -.- anyone who lives here knows what I mean).
Check the meet others database thing and it's got a bit more info.
I've got room for people to stay for a while if they need to or anything (or if y'know, we pass out after a long night of spinning then drinking ^.^' anyone who knows about my town would understand, there isn't anything else to do within a 30 minute radius at least)
Anyways, if anyone does read this, and happens to be in the area, drop me a line and we'll work something out and get together and have a spin smile

Having been born in Montreal, I must say although it's a really busy place, there isn't as many tourists as there is in say Toronto, or Calgary or BC or the coast. Montreal is only cool in the winter :P
And Mand, some sites for you smile
https://www.playpoi.com/index.htm
https://www.thevenue.org/

It's a bit out of the way. It'd be a drive over there, but it's something to check out smile
It wouldn't be much more than the drives I hear going on in the UK all the time.
