I've been training a long time with staff and poi as a weapon (stuiped video soon!) and now im looking for new styles for staff, so I will be getting my three sectional staff in a month, but in the meanwhile I thought of building something cool.

This is a pudao
Non-Https Image Link
, I know a guy that works with metal that can cut me such a shape.

What I will do, is this:

I will make it one meter of wood staff, and 1 foot of blade, not like the 50\50 in the traiditional pudao, so I could do many of the tricks like a simple staff.

The staff will be black, and it will be oval, not round, on the same direction as the blade. this way the pudao wont spin on its face when moving around, but on its blade.

The blade will be the style of the picture, but shorter. It wont be sharp, its only for show off :P

I will paint the wood in black, so it will be cool smile

The next step in building this is to ask my friend to cut me this shape, but I don't know what metal is good, and what thickness.

I want something flashy, that will be thin, strong and preety light.

What metal should I use?

(I guess this is not the right place to ask but who knows)

A handle for an axe has an oval cut....

and they are contoured to allow for a heavy weight at the end....
