Well, in addition to [Old link] there is now going to be a new weekly meeting in Guildford.

Every Sunday, from 2 - 6pm in the Stoke Pub back room.

Happy Thursdays are still going to run and will be the "fire night" or, if it's raining, the "pub night" wink

The Sunday Sessions are more practise orientated- as it's difficult to practise and impossible to teach/learn in the dark and not particularly fun in the rain smile

The plan is to have fairly regular workshops teaching everything from the basics to the not-so-basics - so any volunteer teachers, step forward biggrin

We're looking for as much variety as possible inside, hopefully will get some jugglers (ewwwww wink ), devil-stickers, diaboloists etc. down.

Entrance fee is £3 which covers renting the back-room.

The first one will be Sunday, November the 7th and then hopefully it will be every week. At the moment, I'm thinking this might just be for the Autumn-Winter period, but if it's popular (and the pub are fine with it) it could stay smile

Hope to see some of you there smile

Guildford - about 5 minutes walk from the main station smile

It's on a beautiful stretch of river, by some locks, a pub and a theatre. Shady trees for these hot summer days and apparently tolerant policemen smile

Drums, poi - heaven biggrin

Twas a lovely afternoon!

Around the neck roll managed!! SOOOO pleased! I've been trying for weeks to get that. Just need to get it every time now...

Many thanks to Strugz for the teachings, I now have SOOOO much to practise. And looking at what you were managing with a contact ball, you're gonna get good at that pretty soon, too...

*runs off with staff and acrylic in hands*

And it feels really weird not saying Pong when I hear the word Ping...

Did anyone pick up an extra 80mm acrylic? I seem to have misplaced one. It may be hidden in the depths of my room, but just checking all possibilities...

Not sure about an 80mm - will have a look when I get home, but I don't think I played with an 80 all day...

So, Thursday? wink

Well, that was.....interesting. A distinct lack of people yesterday. As in, I spent 2 hours talking to an ex- war criminal tramp whilst waiting, hoping someone might turn up. Then one person turned up, and we were almost immediately mobbed by a group of about 30 children. Not great if you don't much like children.

Just because Durbs is on holiday doesn't mean sunday spinning is cancelled!! Where were you all??

Hello!!

I thought I'd find this dusty old thread and give it a bit of a revival!!

Also to say, This coming sunday is my last for a while (I go back to uni on the bank holiday monday). No more summer fun for me for another year.

I was also wondering who's gonna make guildford this Sunday? Or even thursday night? I would love to see loads of people one more time before I go back to uni...

*looks hopeful*

Got back last wednesday, just been catching up with things that needed doing since. Trying to organise some photo prints at the mo, getting rather frustrated with it all.
Travels were good thanks; bit of a hectic month, saw loads and drank loads beerchug.

If you fancy a lift on thursday let me know & I'll grab you on the way. Pretty sure I can remember where to find you.

Don't think I'm gonna make it this thurs/sunday since I'm going camping in Newquay for the bank holiday. Why you going so soon Ed, surely summer's not over yet.... (nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!) If I don't see you, have a good term up north, and I guess I'll see you for some cold wintery spinning sessions! ubbrollsmile

James, A lift would be most welcomed!!

I'll text you later on, in case you don't read this...

Tom, Uni doesn't *actually* start until the 12th for me, but I gotta go to Hastings and stay with my Dad on Moonday so that He can take me back...

Sucks in a way... No more poi by the river in the sun for a while... But I do get to see my girlfriend again!!

It seems we have a mini invasion coming our way this Sunday smile

Mr Mech, Mr Strugnell and a possibly/probably some other Sotonites as well

Quite why they've decided to come up when I can't spin is anybodies guess - My money's on Strugz having something to do with organising it wink

But I'll be there anyway (Not even ping-ponging as I think I've given up since Play)

You still around E_war? Dub?

Nice turn-out biggrin

Apologies for the chavs - there's not usually that many and they don't usually linger around that long frown

I'm gutted we got such a big turnout on one of the few weeks I couldn't spin properly...

But it was lovely to see you all - see Mrs Durbs does exist biggrin
