use cannons not strips

your average uv striplight is about 60W

a UV cannon will give you 200W eek

strips dont cut it for stage performances.

blue and purpule uv is never very bright, cos by nature it absorbes most of the UV.

at a pince par cans with a dark blue gel will produce the same effect, but oviously non-uv things will show up more.

Sewing is easy, especially if you make simple things.

But it might work if you got some ready made clothes, maybe dark, non UV stuff, and then either sewed or painted UV bits onto it

That might be the easiest thing if you have to make a costume for yourself.

Tom....

have you never seen my UV lights?

48" strips.

One does the entire room.

We also used two lying down on the floor when we performed on a stage at our old school. (Feels lovely saying that)

If you are using strip lights - use a lot of them.

also, warn your audience that some people get very bad headaches or sometimes even feel a bit nausious from bright UV lighting.

you can just paint designs on an old black shirt or even your skin with UV paint.

one last point - combine glow sticks with UV reative colors to get different types of diffusive color, then put some led lights on your poi too for a strong point source that will leave long tracers against the diffuse glow (even if your audience is stone cold sober), then a flashing LED or two to take advantage of the strobe-displacement effect (this is when your brain predicts the displacement of a solid object or light when it is in motion, but things that flash or strobe are not predictively displaces so they seem to lag behind).

the combination of all these different types of lighting on one set of poi is mind boggling, and even if you aren't technically that good, you'll look like a god so long as you keep your chains moving and don't get tangled.

A UV cannon?
If you're going to do a UV show - yes smile
