Yeah, well I don't quite know what to write but thought I'd start a plate spinning thread since I recently spun my own home made fire plates.

Weee...

It's really hard to describe plate spinning. I'm sure there are other sites which actually explain how to do it.

I can pretty much throw and catch and spin and respin and move it around my body pretty well. I can also juggle two plates with two people badly. And once, just once, I threw up two plates and caught them on opposite sticks.

The fire plate will reemerge as version 2, held together with bolts rather than glue. Since it worked so well the first time. biggrin

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

And I always look pimp. biggrin

I think you can pretty much add fire to any art. Especially if you have protective clothing. biggrin

I'm embarassed to say that, after seeing anything new, I tend to ask "I wonder what that would look like on fire?"

nah, the troupe I'm in does it, in a show..They're not throwing 50-60 feet, more like 10-20 for safety reasons..It's no where near as dangerous as the gas cannons they use ubblol

He _knows_...

You can see it in his little dilated eyes, he knows what will happen once he catches that frisbee.

Version 2.0 of the plate went perfectly.

Life is grand.

Photos will be up soon. (Check my gallery for photos of Version 1.0)

I found that it's extremely important to have the center of the bottom of the plate as smooth and scratch free as possible. The outer rim can get banged up as much as possible but a small nick in the bottom middle circle can cause havoc. I think I'll gently sand that area every now and then.

[Who am I talking to? I'm the only one who does this!]

Yeah... wooden... but wrapping the ends in aluminium tape.

And having a tip that's sharp but not too sharp helps. I'm finging that the tip of the stick greatly affects the spin stability. To dull sucks, too sharp sucks.

But not wrapping the tips in aluminium tape.... just the area below the tips. So you can still sharpen the tip.

Does this site actually exist? Or am i talking to all my other personalities?
