ah MiG,

you have entered into the third round of the naming discussion

shall I recap?

durbs is singular and has no clonii so is just durbs

there are 3 of molly so mollii can be used where appropriate

mushashii is quite obviously many mush

and there is no reason to kidnap aimee's i to stick on the end. There are plenty to go round smile

is more than one molecule a group of moleculii?

should we make some common rulii for pluralisation of wordii, or do we just use whatever sounds the best?

Yes, we pluralize wordii as they sound best.

Fortunately, there can be only one Lightning, because "Lightningii" would just be silly.

Actually, "bacteria" is the plural of "bacterium." As such, it requires no further modification.

Molly, the posterii on this thread did agree that plurii that are already variant may be retained in their original form and that not all of them require the "-ii" ending.

Kewlness?

what about enterobacteriaceae then, eh?
could we make a case for a bit of variation with -ae endings to ease the tyrrany of the ii?
(they'll have their own knightae before you know it)

these questions plague me

The enterobacteriaceaea (spp.) are a unique enough plural as it stands that further modification would just be a waste of a perfectly daft plural.
