Summer Location: Queen Victoria gardens.

The aim is not for a solely firetwirling night, but a night whereby firetwirlers, jugglers, contact jugglers, diabolo etc can meet. So feel free to bring friends who may be interested.

Night starts at 6pm for all those who are keen to learn. Fire starts after dark 7.00 - 8ish till late!

So.... the location is Queen Victoria Gardens

St. Kilda Road – opposite 'National Gallery of VIC' (Old Arts Gallery with spire)

The grassed area near the three raised palm trees. (Look out for the bronze statue hammer thrower)

With only a 5 minute walk over the princess bridge from Flinders Street station.

Here's the map

https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...360&ie=UTF8

*WINTER LOCATION*

Under the Princess bridge (Southbank side). Where the Southbank Sundey market happens.

i am sooo stoked that i can set fire to stuff on sundays again.
to have had the grass given a good soaking on the morning and a warm night to play in was a bonus i am grateful for.

Please be aware that new parking restrictions on st kilda road just facing the gardens were for the night 'permit only' however i didn't notice it being enforced. be careful, drivers.

also, could jaron *please* stop throwing up on the grass. seagulls will eat that jazz, u know?! wow

bring some water cus sweat will dehydrate u.
bring a warm jacket if this week's cold spell continues to sunday (currently the BOM forecats sunday to be fine with a top of 24)
lists are fun.
if u are driving down, be mindful if the park restrictions have been changed on the st kilda blvd parking spots
if it's wet, we'll be in the bridge location on the map.
watch out for jarle, he's a vomitus.

above all, is *is* intimidating to join in a new meet for the first time. although some people may appear cynical and disdainful of meets when they discuss it online(forums/blogs), you'll find us an approachable lot in real life. it's an internet thing smile

yes, and last week was friggan unreal.

Take it easy mate, no need for the terse sentence replies.
The cancellation of the night markets is important news that affects anyone interested in supporting fire meets in VIC.
I mentioned it here so that it because it is likely valuable to yourself and others.

Back on the topic of the sunday meet, can we get some photos posted from amanda's camera? i'm keen to see what kinda quality shots came out of it.

everyone remember to say hi to jimjimranger on sunday. Our fire community is growing more than ever, so we'll better get used to welcoming new faces when summer finally rolls in!

for the same reason 'for sparta' was mentioned at the top of this page without prior discussion of ancient greek city-states - ie whimsical forumspeak to say, particularly in the face of sad, sad news.

ok, let's contribute to the talk of sundays, yeah?

The old sunday spinning location was started by ataxia, at the time this long running thread popped up. it's the O'donnell gardens but that's where the twirling at the night markets used to run.

this is not to be confused with andrea tonkin's fire meet at the sea baths, which is actually closer to st kilda beach.

the correct location (3trees/QV gardens) is shown on the map posted on [Old link] of this thread. And yes, the summer location is off St Kilda Blvd however it ain't St Kilda.

seems all the bigger sunday twirling sessions have something to do with St Kilda or pools being closed.

see u there!
