Summer Location: Queen Victoria gardens.

The aim is not for a solely firetwirling night, but a night whereby firetwirlers, jugglers, contact jugglers, diabolo etc can meet. So feel free to bring friends who may be interested.

Night starts at 6pm for all those who are keen to learn. Fire starts after dark 7.00 - 8ish till late!

So.... the location is Queen Victoria Gardens

St. Kilda Road – opposite 'National Gallery of VIC' (Old Arts Gallery with spire)

The grassed area near the three raised palm trees. (Look out for the bronze statue hammer thrower)

With only a 5 minute walk over the princess bridge from Flinders Street station.

Here's the map

https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...360&ie=UTF8

*WINTER LOCATION*

Under the Princess bridge (Southbank side). Where the Southbank Sundey market happens.

hey everyone,

im working on a new act, and was wondering if id be able to get you all to start collecting empty glass bottles for me. i need to try and get 25 in the next 2 weeks, and another 50 before the end of this term. bottles of any size are fine, as long as they are round, ie. no Jim beam bottles etc.

thanks sooo much.

cheers, pete hug

Yuppers, I cut my hand week before last and its really geting bad, we are getting way too many injuries and its restricting our freedom to go twirling with no shoes like so many of us like doing.

What does everyone recomend we do?

spend more time barefoot so that city slicker foot gets calloused.
it'll take a few years to do, and requires constant doofing/camping/imprisonment to maintain....
callouses won't prevent deep gashes, but will protect against minor scrapes like it ain't no thang

now let's convince mediteraneansalad to join in the mischief... mua ha ha ha ha!

um guys? wear shoes.
Sorry, but it is a little silly to not be wearing shoes in a park directly next to the city.
alternatively, people could bring a plastic bag, and do a scout around/glass pickup before it gets dark. smile

It sometimes takes a woman to point out the obvious! ubbidea
Unfortunately, not everyone out there is community minded - like HoPpers, some can be very selfish. We just don't need to suffer, so take precautions and do as Flynt says.

Happy [and safe] twirling to all

i have a love affair with the feeling of moist grass beath my naked soles.
turning is much more difficult and has fewer points of pivot around the foot with footwear on, and that's not even touching on the benefits of no shoesness with foot contact.
it must've just been an unlucky day, as i've hardly ever had problems with glass, whether close to the city or not.

looks like a warm weekend comin up! time to unstinkify them feet!

ditto
I too love the grass between my toes, but as was said in a previous post (I think by you Bender) Walk barefoot more often, your feet adjust to small scratches and the like, and to a certain pont glass...
