Summer Location: Queen Victoria gardens.

The aim is not for a solely firetwirling night, but a night whereby firetwirlers, jugglers, contact jugglers, diabolo etc can meet. So feel free to bring friends who may be interested.

Night starts at 6pm for all those who are keen to learn. Fire starts after dark 7.00 - 8ish till late!

So.... the location is Queen Victoria Gardens

St. Kilda Road – opposite 'National Gallery of VIC' (Old Arts Gallery with spire)

The grassed area near the three raised palm trees. (Look out for the bronze statue hammer thrower)

With only a 5 minute walk over the princess bridge from Flinders Street station.

Here's the map

https://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...360&ie=UTF8

*WINTER LOCATION*

Under the Princess bridge (Southbank side). Where the Southbank Sundey market happens.

Aww, I'm a dragon too! Let's be friends!

I'm asking for next Friday off due to a Scout thingy, so chances are he won't grace me with another Sunday shift. I have a heirachy of priorities unfortunately, and my social life comes fourth - I'm thinking of changing that somehow to allow for more balance.

Hiya everyone, thought I ought to say hello and introduce myself a little. My name is Laura, and have been learning firetwirling and poi for about 14 weeks now, and have started teaching a few of my friends the basics. I wanted to say thanks for letting myself and my friends hang out under the bridge last sunday and have a go at twirling and poi and just generally watching all of your awesome skills. We were really quite amazed and intrigued by the huge variety of disciplines you were all practising at.

I know I had a fairly decent sized group of friends with me last week, and I hope everyone was okay with that. We really enjoyed the night, and hope we might be able to join you again some sundays..next time with just the few that are actually learning to twirl and poi smile

anyway, just wanted to say thanks for last sunday and apologise if we annoyed anyone (I hope not!)

Hi everyone.

So apparently I've been neglecting HoP for a year or so but I'm temporarily back..

I've found myself in Melbourne for a few days looking at uni's and things with the mother. Looks like I'll be free Sunday night so, just to confirm, is twirling under the bridge at 6?
And will there be people there to welcome a lost and bedraggled Taswegian?

hug

I've just moved to Melbourne and will be turning up in a few weeks time but was wondering if there is anywhere to park a small bus nearby rather then struggling with staffs & fuel on trams/trains or is it just not worth the hassel driving thru the city centre.

Also on a side note does anyone have or know of a houseshare for a very friendly couple? Send me an email to zeebooATymail.com if you have some info that could help us out.

NOTE TO ALL SPINNERS COMING ON THE 11th of OCTOBER

There is a free aerial performance held at Alexandria Gardens from the 9th to the 12th of October as part of the International Arts festival from 9pm.

Given daylight savings has kicked in it's a bit of a moot point whether or not we should move back to the gardens or remain under the bridge this weekend as there may be large crowds.
In addition, this may been parking around Alexandria Gardens may be difficult or even prohibited as Melbourne-based events on St Kilda Road/Alexandria gardens often restrict parking during that time.

Thoughts?

hey melbourne kids! keyarghah (Ciara) grin is coming back to Melbourne next week! She also is talking in ze 3rd person.

IM COMING BACK TO MELBOURNE NEXT WEEK! Ok, you might not be as excited as i am. but hey.

Ill be busy during the week at NICA (blatant self-promotion) (its probably not as cool as it sounds) but ill be there Sunday night, if i manage to find the correct/current details of "under the bridge".. is that what its called? But i know ciara/brenn/stuart were thinking of maybe hanging out, cos Stuart now has my Fire All Stars DVD and besties bracelet, and me and Brenn were thinking of going to some markets somewhere?

So let me know if anyone is keen to hang, maybe we can ransack someone's house for a Saturday night cuddle puddle and watch some nerdy spinning DVD's... bounce2 bounce2
