Looks like that would be intense with fire, dangerous as usual, but fun none the less. Anyone try this with fire yet? devil

Try it with Glow or UV first bud, then maybe if it works out well, try with fire...I don't know if Fire would work to well with that.

I thought I saw a fire cube a few months ago. I can't remember but it might have been on the cubefx site. I think it would be possible but only if you lit the corners of the cube, but not all of them because you still need to be able to spin it :P

Bleh, fire cube is totally possible so long as you can deal with the weight of all that kevlar and dont mind wearing gloves. Or if you are gonna just do the corners that would work too as long as you leave one corner for palm spins and such.

Yes I have seen it as well.
It is very limiting as to what you can do with it, because it completely takes out of the equation several cube moves.
And part of the cube tool relies on balance and so you will have to attempt to completely even out all the kevlar and fuel weight or you will not be able to spin it effectively.

Another thing to realize is that many of them on not truly cubes, as their sides and angles are skewed off just a bit, at least the ones I have seen up close.

What if you had the wick distributed evenly across the just top(diagonal) half of the cube?

I have seen several cubes up close and personal. The first thnig I will tell you is that no 2 are alike.

The beefest cube I have seen was made from 2-inch aluminum tube. It weighed a ton! More common seems to be the 3/4 inch tubing.

If you want to try this at home, you can build one using furnature grade PVC, dowels and PCV glue. The corner peices can be had from ACE Hardware, and then I would use a standard 4 foot length of PVC. Make sure you line your PVC with your dowels and glue everything in place.

This is a cheep way to get a feel for the prop, but it should not be used for more than an hour or two (my best guess). Even with the dowels, PVC tends to shatter, and can cause injury.

If you are serious, build it out of aluminum. If you are really good with a welding torch you can try cutting and welding the corners. If you are like me, know that the corners can be had in aluminum, but they are difficult to find (I have 6, need 2 more...), as they don't seem to be used for much.

If you are going to try welding, I can give you instructions on building a good jig to help get the angles right. Good luck (you will need it!)

hi there i have a cube that i use on a regular basis at draculas in qld australia

has any one tried to think out side the box for fire

u can have a chain on the inside from one corner to another withe wick on it u could even have a couple in it ,also make them removable for easy dipping

another way is having a pole with wick on it on the inside of each courner

that way with either way ur not loosing out on much tricks like u would with kevlar on the corner or poles

my cube is made from aluminium consting of eight courners and 12 poles and is 1 m squared

good luck flaming mick
